A shout out to Lucas and family and to our karate families who nearly filled our recycling bin on Sunday!

Our recycling run ♻️ #4 3,844 containers recycled, raising another $384.40

💜🐾♻️ How lovely is this!

On Sunday one of our junior students at Kokoro Busshu Karate surprised us with $7.30 from their recycling.

They had collected their 10¢ containers, taken them into Envirobank themselves and then gave the money to Evies Bark.

♻️ 61 cans and 12 glass containers saved from landfill!

💰They then donated the $7.30 to Evie's Bark to add to our Recycling Initiative.

That’s another 73 containers to add to our total!

Their $7.30;

💜 $3.65 to HATS NT
🐾 $3.65 to Evie’s Bark

💰$920.40 raised
🐾 $460.20 to HATS NT

♻️ 9,204 containers saved from landfill

Our recycling initiative isn’t just about raising money for much needed funds for animal welfare. We also want to encourage more people to recycle, help keep containers out of landfill and get our younger generation and families involved.

A huge thank you to Lucas and his family for thinking of Evie’s Bark.

We are getting so close to our 10,000 containers saved from landfill milestone!

Only 796 recycable containers to go!

✨️making a difference to our environment and for animal welfare. 💜🐾♻️

A big shout-out to Daly - one of youth students who is taking part in One Foot Forward this October to raise funds for the Black Dog Institute.

Daly set himself a goal of 60km and has already done 63km!

Well done, Daly! 👏

If any of our karate families or friends would like to support him, here is the link to his fundraising page 😀

🐾♻️ EVIES BARK RECYCLING INITIATIVE AT KARATE! ♻️🐾

Our purple Evie’s Bark recycling bin is now at Kokoro Busshu Karate every Sunday during school terms!

We welcome our karate students, families and the wider Durack community to drop off their eligible 10c cans, bottles and containers.

You don't have to be a member of karate to drop off your recycling! Everyone is welcome.

Our recycling initiative helps reduce landfill while raising funds for animal welfare. 100% of the recycling funds go towards Evie’s Bark and HATS NT (Helping Animals To Survive), supporting our work and local animal rescues.

📍 Durack Primary School Hall

📅 Sundays during school terms

🕒 3pm – 7.15pm

The bin will be placed outside near the assembly, so just look out for our purple bin!

Every container adds up and it's a great way to help animals in need while keeping recyclable containers out of landfill.

And don’t forget to follow Evie’s Bark on Facebook and Instagram to keep up with their recycling initiative and animal welfare work! 💜🐾

Any questions, just send us a DM at Kokoro Busshu Karate or Evie's Bark.

🐾♻️ EVIES BARK RECYCLING INITIATIVE IS COMING TO KARATE!

Starting today, Sunday 11th October, our 🟪 purple recycling bin will be at karate every Sunday during school terms!

Our beautiful Princess Evie used to come along to karate with us and welcome our students.

Sadly, she was killed at a pet boarding facility in March 2024, which led us to create Evie's Bark.

Since then, we have successfully advocated for the NT’s first pet boarding and doggy day care standards and guidelines to be included in the new animal welfare laws. We still have plenty of work to do, including licensing and planning approvals for the pet boarding sector.

We have now launched our Evie’s Bark Recycling Initiative, with 50% of funds going to HATS NT (Helping Animals To Survive) to help local animal rescues and 50% towards our ongoing advocacy and education.

💜 100% goes back into animal welfare!

📍 Durack Primary School Hall
🥋 Sundays, 3:30pm – 7pm (school terms only)

We are hoping our karate students, families and the wider Durack community will get behind our cause.

Everyone is welcome to drop off their eligible 10c cans, bottles and containers during our training times.

Every container counts! ♻️

One small paw print at a time. 🐾
