Competition doesn't always reward the work you've put in.
Today at the Asian Championships in Japan, things didn't go my way and I was submitted early. It wasn't the performance I was hoping for, but that's the reality of testing yourself against high-level opposition.
One of the values we try to instil at Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Darwin is that showing up matters. You learn far more from stepping onto the competition mats than sitting on the sidelines.
Thank you to everyone at the academy who supported me throughout this campaign. Knowing I had the team behind me meant a lot.
We'll review, learn, improve, and get back to work. That's what jiu-jitsu is all about.
