Season 2 Finals Night, Wednesday 3 December, 7pm

The Season 2 Semi-finals for all grade competitions will be on tomorrow night from 7pm!

Update from Elfrida: In the singles event, I did win 2 matches in the round robin then won in second round. Lost in the third round to a Japanese player. It was not easy to stay focused all the time in that circumstance. But I won more matches than last year. Well done Elfrida and representing DTTA and the NT in Japan.

Elfrida says, Carol and I did not make it to the second round. Our womens Australia team lost although this time I won 2 matches. One of the matches I won in the 5th set, 15 -13. My opponent used short pimples. There are good Japanese players.
They don’t put the barriers between tables. There are 1000 players participating in this tournament 2025.

NT Inter-Schools Table Tennis Tournament
DTTA hosted students from NT primary, middle and senior schools in a huge end of term table tennis gala. Hannah Doust, Sport Education Coordinator, Darwin Region, and DTTA Coach Elfrida Kalich and ran the two days. Both days were very well supported by local schools and teachers: Middle and Senior School students on Wednesday 17th (about 140 students) and Primary School students (about 115 students) on 19th September.

(1) Term 4 Junior Coaching on Mondays, 5.30-7pm, 10 session $100
(2) School Holiday Coaching for juniors: Course 2: 24&25 Sept, 1.30-3.30pm; Course 3: 1&2 Oct, 10am-12pm; Course 4: 1.30-3.30pm. Each course $20.

Friday Night Juniors at the 2RM Darwin Open
Fifteen juniors entered the Restricted Juniors Singles and Doubles of the 2RM Darwin Open, held on Friday night 20 June, and organised by coaches Nick Pastrikos and Michael Liang with help from Tournament Director John Pudney. Yulin Li won the singles title, defeating Beina Liu in the final, 11/9 11/6 11/9; the doubles was won by Brayden McLay and Max Bigwood in a very tight match 2 sets to 1 with a very close final set 12/10 over Beina Liu and Priash Jain.

Grand Final Season One 2025 Results

It was a fitting end to three intriguing contests in all three divisions last Wednesday.

In A Grade, Midpoint defeated RBV 6-4. Super Eagles snuffed out a late challenge by Pukku for B Grade, and finally Champs got it done over Titans in C Grade.

Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉🎉to Sujata Timilsina for her remarkable achievement in winning the Gold Medal in the Women Singles Table Tennis Event and securing the Silver Award with Ramani Phuyal in the Mixed Doubles Table Tennis Competition at the 2025 OCEANIA Sports Meet Tournament in Perth last week.
This is not just a personal triumph, but a proud moment for the NT and the entire Nepalese community. Their dedication, sportsmanship, and excellence are truly inspiring, and it’s an honour to see Sujata, Navaraj and Ramani representing their community on such a prestigious platform.
