Recently crowned Ironman Craig, and 70.3 age group champion Trudy were putting in the effort at Friday Track Club this morning.
We thought about asking them for training and mindset tips. And we thought the answer might be to forget all that and buy a DTC hat. “The hat is the key to success,” is something they might well have said.
Buy using the link below and pick up on Sunday’s race.

Happy New Year to those who speak all things finance. A big shout out to the DTC treasurer who is like Father Christmas, always granting our wishes. (Or is that a genie?)
New Year (financial) = New You (2nd chance- because the February heat is quite un-motivational)
Sprint no. #1 is approaching, and in the words of AC/DC, “Are you ready for a good time?”
They then missed an opportunity to put the following rather niche words into the chorus:
Sunday 26th July
Lake Alexander
750/20/5 or 300/10/2.5
Rego closes at 6.45 for a 7 am start
This is a Come and Try meaning non-members are welcome. Team up with friends or fly solo.
This race will be on closed roads within East Point.
But it doesn’t really rhyme so we will forgive them.
Put it in your diary.
*The race entry link is now live - go nuts*
We are chasing 2 x volunteers to help with registration, and a volunteer for fruit and ice duties. Please let us know below.
Injured? Training for a big race and need a rest day? Honestly CBF? We are also chasing an RD for Sprint #2 on the 23rd August. Drop us a line.
Picture of an RD who definitely knows where the swim might be, with 110% near-certainty.

Cairns fever is here and it's the day before the big one.
Good luck to all of our athletes in the 70.3 and Ironman events.
We can't wait to hear about all the thrills and spills of race day.
Also, to those who stayed home this year, we wish you the best for the City to Surf tomorrow. Wait... how many times do you have to climb Darwin High hill again?
What tips do you have for our athletes tomorrow?

Due to venue conditions, the upcoming DTC Tri Fest will unfortunately be cancelled.
The Club aims to hold fun and safe events, and this season has delivered many a curve ball, with weather events affecting venue access and safety.
So this gives you June back to partake in Darwin’s 1000 other events, before we start it all again in July for our 2026-27 season.
Stay tuned for details of our upcoming season.

Thanks Craig for being our RD for the teams
event.
RD Report
If you weren't dizzy watching this morning's mixed relay, were you even there?
What a massive shoutout to everyone who came down to help and race.
The energy was unmatched, the cheering and banter was great. And it was awesome seeing old friends and fresh faces completely losing track of who they were supposed to tag.
We want to run this again, but we seek input into the perfect format. Tell us in the comments:
Do we open it up to non-members next time?
Do we force a mandatory chip swap on every single leg to maximize the scramble?
All ideas welcome!
