A huge weekend ahead for our Waratahs juniors and seniors, with plenty of red and white taking the field! ❤️🤍

Our U13 Girls head into finals in 1st and 2nd place, while our senior teams battle it out in the Semi-Final Elimination Round.

Get down to the turf this weekend, wear your red and white and get behind our Tahs! 🙌

This weekend also sees our TPL Women battle it out for the Sinclair & Osborne Cup, honouring two amazing women who have made a lasting impact on our hockey community. ❤️🤍

This Saturday , August 29th at 5:00pm our TPL women’s team will be playing against Commerce Pints Hockey Club for the Beverly Sinclair & Yvonne Osborne Cup.

This cup is to honour, celebrate, and recognise these women and their commitment to hockey in the Northern Territory. In different capacities, these women have enabled hockey to thrive as a women’s sport and we thank them for their contribution to our game.

❤️ YVONNE OSBORNE 🖤

Yvonne is a life member of Commerce-Pints Hockey Club and has been actively involved in the club as a player and umpire from 1971 to 2000. Following retirement she has consistently managed and tech benched Commerce-Pints A and B grade women’s teams as well as been active with Hockey NT with Masters and as manager for the NT Pearls team.

In 2014, Yvonne was a recipient of the Women’s Masters Service Awards - NT, in recognition of her outstanding contribution to Women’s Masters Hockey within the NT as a player, coach, manager, selector, umpire and/or administrator for at least 10 years.

❤️ BEV SINCLAIR 🤍

Bev has been a member of the Waratah Hockey Club since the mid 1960’s as a player, coach, umpire and committee member. Bev is a Life Member of NTHA, DHA, Waratahs and recipient of three NTHA Merit awards and was given the honour of carrying the torch for the Melbourne Commonwealth Games.

She umpired at Australian Under 21 level for three years before taking on a mentoring role for aspiring umpires. She has been a committed volunteer for not only her club but hockey in general, having a positive influence on the entire hockey community at various levels.

Bev was awarded a Hockey Australia Award of Merit in 2021. The Award of Merit is given for dedicated and sustained commitment to the development of hockey in Australia, and devoted and successful service to hockey and the promotion of the basic values which underpin the sport.

Please come down and cheer on both teams and join us for the presentation of the Cup at the end of the game

A commanding presence in defence and a proven goalscorer, he’ll be looking to build on a remarkable 2023 World Cup campaign, where he was crowned the tournament’s Best Defender and finished as its leading goalscorer.
