EXERCISE PITCH BLACK 2026
Some information for all our visitors to Darwin who may be wondering about the noisy airplanes they keep hearing. You are in for an exciting time!
Every 2nd year the Royal Australian Air Force holds the largest international exercise featuring complex, combat-like scenarios across one of the largest military training areas in the world over a three-week period from 20th July to 7th August, creating an opportunity for over 100 aircraft and personnel from 19 allied and partner nations to exercise together, and strengthen regional and global interoperability. The emphasis is on night flying, hence the name.
MINDIL BEACH FLYING DISPLAY ON THURSDAY 23 JULY, 5pm-6.30pm is an experience not to be missed! Cullen Bay lawns are the perfect viewing spot for those who don't want to venture into the huge crowd at Mindil Beach.
