Fathers Day Battle on the Diamond

Nightcliff Tigers and Palmerston and Rural Reds tied 5-5 on Sunday.

A ground out by Nick Auciello put Nightcliff Tigers on the board in the top of the first.

Jamie Dom singled, which helped Palmerston and Rural Reds tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.

A double by Anthony Zamolo gave Nightcliff Tigers the lead, 2-1, in the top of the second.

A Judge created a play and extended the Nightcliff Tigers lead to 3-1 in the top of the third inning.

Palmerston and Rural Reds tied the game in the bottom of the fourth thanks to a triple by Casey, and a ground out by Kayden North-Palmer.

Ben Lawerence led things off on the bump for Nightcliff Tigers. The starter allowed five hits and five runs over five innings, striking out four and walking four. Vivian Wei stepped on the hill first for Palmerston and Rural Reds. The starting pitcher surrendered nine hits and three runs over three innings, striking out two and walking none.

Nightcliff Tigers tallied 12 hits in the game. Lawerence led Nightcliff Tigers with three hits in three at bats. Zamolo, Leo Sayer, and Jose Big V each drove in one run for Nightcliff Tigers. Mark MacDonald and Lance Scmidt each collected multiple hits for Nightcliff Tigers. Nightcliff Tigers turned one double play in the game. Nightcliff Tigers were sure-handed in the field with no errors recorded in defence while solid offence with Judge, Jeter and Stanton. Providing solid at bats through the line up

Casey provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Palmerston and Rural Reds with three runs batted in. The number three hitter went 1-for-2 on the day. North-Palmer led Palmerston and Rural Reds with two hits in three at bats.

With only three games left before the mid season break, we have been gifted a meat tray for this Sunday to be given to the MVP for the day remember game is open to anyone just turn up and play 9:15 for a 10am start ⚾️⚾️⚾️

Another exciting game of Baseball this morning at the Darwin Baseball Field ⚾️⚾️⚾️

Leo Sayer A Difficult Out As Nightcliff Tigers Defeat Palmerston and Rural Reds

Leo Sayer collected three hits in three at bats, as Nightcliff Tigers defeated Palmerston and Rural Reds 6-3 on Sunday. Sayer doubled in the first inning, doubled in the fourth inning, and singled in the sixth inning.

Nightcliff Tigers got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Ben Lawerence singled, scoring one run, Sayer doubled, scoring two runs, and a passed ball scored one run.

Mark MacDonald earned the win for Nightcliff Tigers. The hurler allowed seven hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out five and walking two. James Armstrong took the loss for Palmerston and Rural Reds. The pitcher went three innings, allowing four runs (two earned) on six hits, striking out four and walking none.

Nightcliff Tigers piled up nine hits in the game. Anthony Zamolo and Lawerence each collected multiple hits for Nightcliff Tigers. Zamolo, Julian Payares, and Sayer each stole multiple bases for Nightcliff Tigers. Nightcliff Tigers ran wild on the base paths, accumulating eight stolen bases for the game. Nightcliff Tigers turned one double play in the game. Nightcliff Tigers were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Lawerence had the most chances in the field with six.

Vivian Wei, Tim Palmer, and Alejandro Diaz each collected two hits for Palmerston and Rural Reds. Wei and Diaz each drove in one run for Palmerston and Rural Reds. Diaz stole two bases.

As we are entering the final month of the season, games are hotting up with games going down to the last innings, be sure to be part of these games each week and get down to the ball par, every Monday for training from 5:30pm and game day Sundays ⚾️⚾️⚾️
