Before they made it to the grand final to claim their second Top End T20 Series crown, Adelaide Strikers Academy had to make it past BLACKCAPS A.
Steady flow of wickets during the Black Caps innings prevented them from gaining any momentum, and the Strickers were able to chase it down thanks to a nice fifty to Strikers Lachie Bangs.
Thank you to NT Cricket for inviting me to be part of their media team for this series and look forward to coming back in future years.

It was a busy weekend doing some work for NT Cricket capturing the final days of the Study NT Top End T20 series.
The weekend kicked off for me on Saturday with the match between Hobart Hurricanes Academy and BLACKCAPS A, a must win match for the New Zealanders who took 4th place on the ladder and made it through to the semi-finals. Unfortunately for the Hurricanes, the loss meant they finished the tournament without a win but gained some valuable experience in the lead up to the Big Bash League and southern cricket season.

Some of the highlights from Monday night’s Study NT Top End T20 Series match between CAN Academy and Hobart Hurricanes Academy. Nepal Academy took the victory in front of some very vocal supporters who came out on a “school night” to support their team.
It has been good having some high level cricket in the top end over the last couple of weeks, and as we approach the final days of the Top End series I highly recommend getting down to catch some of the do or die clashes over the next couple of weeks of days before the top 4 teams fight it out in the finals on Sunday.

We think there are plenty of stars of the future in these sprocket classes at Tropic Thunder 2026, and they did not disappoint with some great racing all through the night in front of a big crowd cheering them on.

Our high-flyers didn't miss out on the opportunity to show off their skills as part of our birthday celebrations. We even had coach Ralphy dusting off the bike to join in the fun showing he can practice what he preaches.
The NT sky also made a special guest appearance to add plenty of colour to the back-drop.

As the sunset and our birthday celebrations really started to ramp up, the young sprockets hit the track for a few quick laps before heading over to the Monsterball waterslide/jumping castle to cool off.
Rumour has it that it was so hard to get this crew off the waterslide, a couple might have still been inside when it got rolled up and loaded back onto the truck if it had not been for the lure of birthday cake.

They kicked off our 40th Birthday celebrations so it is only fair they kick off our recap.
The mini-wheelers, always a crowd favourite, were the first to take to the track and put in some great laps in front of the building crowd with some of these riders being born 38 years after our BMX Club was formed.

Here are some of the photographs from the last afternoon and night of training flights on Thursday 6/08/2026 before the participating aircraft and personnel begin to depart Darwin over the coming days.
