Day 2 of Pitch Black 2026 focused predominantly on the take-offs of the morning waves above Amy Johnson Ave with a good mixture of planes heading out.

Does this make me a wildlife photographer now?
This Black Kite thought we were spending too much time photographing jets instead of him so decided to fly past the row of cars.

Day 1 was fun, but what does day two of Pitch Black 2026 have installed?

Who did it better?
One of our Australian locals, a Black Kite, trying to show up a Team Luftwaffe Eurofighter Typhoon as it arrived to Darwin this afternoon.

Some of this afternoon's arrivals at Darwin Airport, highlighted by Eurofighters and an Airbus A400 from the Luftwaffe (German Airforce) ahead of Exercise Pitch Black 2026.

Dropped into Woodroffe Oval on the way home from the airport to catch some of the late afternoon action between Palmerston Cricket Club (PCC) and Nightcliff Cricket Club
