31 August 22 - Contents of the dive shop for sale - $20000+GST
It’s unfortunate, but it seems that no one wants to buy the Dive Shop in Darwin as a going
concern. To me it still seems like a pretty good little sideline business that could have been
grown into something much bigger, especially given the lack of any kind of opposition for a
few thousand kilometers.
I’m still going travelling though so now I’d like to offer the entire contents of the dive shop
for $20000 +GST
What you’d get for your money is:
Air
Bauer Capitano 330Bar compressor with fill panel, custom made frame and 2 G cylinders
Two tower filtration system
Nitrox capable (twin analyser, gauges, regulators) but this has never been used
18 dive cylinders – mix of steel and aluminium, some 207Bar others 240Bar, most in test
Hire
3 sets of hire regs
10 hire BCDs and a multitude of fins, masks, boots, weight belts, weights
Powerdive hire unit
Shop
Fins, masks, snorkelsBCDs, computers, regulators, stinger suits, boots, knives, torches,
weight belts, weights, hoses, fin and mask straps, mouthpieces, inflators, spearfishing
equipment – you get the picture.
Shop Fittings
Workshop
Full set of service equipment, enough to service and repair most makes of gear.
Service books
140 service kits for various popular regulators
Ultrasonic cleaner
Pressure pot
Regulator test equipment
Custom made service bench
O Rings by the hundreds
Lubricants and cleaning fluids
Workshop benches
Boxes of 2nd hand spare parts
I Don’t want to split it up and you’d need to take it all away from its current location.
Please contact me if you‘d like more information.
The dive season is well underway. Some reports of good vis out in the harbour these past few dive weekends. Time to dust off your dive gear and get it in here for service.
If you haven't got any of your own gear then you can hire a set from the Dive Shop or I have new regs, BCDs, fins, masks etc.
The Dive shop also has a selection of pre-loved dive gear for sale - regs and BCD's - all of which would be fully serviced before delivery.
For the spearfishers, the Dive Shop stocks guns, rubber, bridles, floats. etc.
Air fills are $25 ($30 for a 300Bar fill) and cylinders can be hired for $30 per day.
Call the dive shop on 0407724855 or drop by - open Mon - Thursday 10 to 4.00 and Sat 10 to 4.00
The Dive Shop will be closed from today through to Tuesday 19 April. If there is anything really urgent then please call Todd on 0401751651.
The Dry season is just around the corner, if you have dive gear to service then please bring it in from 18th April.

Time to get your dive gear serviced
We're well into 2022 now and heading towards the Dry Season. Given covid restrictions seem to be easing a bit, now would be a great time to get your dive gear serviced.
Remember, as well as repairs and maintenance Dive Air also provides air fills, hire equipment and new equipment from all the major brands.
We're open Monday to Thursday, 10am to 4.30pm and Saturdays from 10am to 4.00pm.
Give Dive Air a call on 0407724855 to book your gear in.

I-124 WWII Japanese Submarine
Great bit of animation, ably narrated by Dave Steinberg ( State Maritime Archaeologist for the Northern Territory Government), highlighting the wreck of the I-124 a Japanese minelaying submarine sunk not far outside Darwin harbour in 1942. The sub went down with all 80 crew onboard - there were no survivors.
For those of you who don't know about this historic wreck this short video will give you some very interesting information. The submarine is sitting at about 46m but is not a dive site.
If you would like to hear the full story of the sinking of the sub and subsequent salvage attempts, Dr Tom Lewis has a great book on the subject - Darwin's Submarine 1-124: The Story of a Covert Japanese Squadron Waging a Secret Underwater War Against Northern Australia
Virtual dive on the wreck of I-124, a WWII Japanese submarine, off Darwin Harbour, Australia The I-124 Japanese submarine was sunk off Darwin Harbour, Australia, on the 20 of January 1942. This VR experience demonstrates a recent multibeam sonar sur...
This is the second video from the Fenton Patches trip, diving the Amelia C and Antares
Great day diving with the DSAC guys last Sunday. We dived on the Amelia C, an old prawn trawler which sits beside the Antares, an old coastal trader. Both vessels were sunk as artificial reefs at around 30m depth
Lots of fish around the place including Groper and a big Ray. Vis was okay, probably 8 to 10 m. Lots of anchors hanging off the rigging, must be a very frustrating place for fishers.
Got to try out my new GoPro on this trip too. I think I need to work on my videoing skill set 😁
