McHugh is officially locked in for the All Star Welding Chariots of Thunder. After taking the overall series crown in 2022 and claiming the opening night feature win just last year, he knows exactly what it takes to win at the WISE Group Northline Speedway.

Bringing undeniable speed, the NQ7 will be on the pedal against a highly competitive field. Gather the family and head trackside to watch some of the best sprintcar action in the country.

DRIVER ANNOUNCEMENT: Matt Egel Racing
The All Star Welding Chariots of Thunder lineup just got heavier.
Matt Egel returns to the dirt at WISE Group Northline Speedway with a massive track record and a brand-new ride.

• Proven Champion: Matt is the 2021 and 2024 Chariots of Thunder Series Champion.
• New Team: He will be making his debut with Heinrich Motorsport.
• Maiden Voyage: This event will officially be his first race behind the wheel for the new squad.

Watch out for the two-time champ as he chases his third title.

The current Australian Champion & 2023 Chariots of Thunder Champion is returning to a track he’s repeatedly called his favourite. This year, Jock has 65,000 reasons to send it.

THE POPE 65 CHALLENGE
The challenge is available Thursday and Friday. If it isn’t won Thursday, Friday’s Pole Shuffle winner can choose to start from 20th:

$5,000 to accept the challenge
$10,000 to win the race
$50,000 bonus for charging from 20th
That’s $65K on the line.

And just like that we are halfway through our season. We cannot wait for it to really start ramping up. We have confirmations of interstate teams travelling north and basing themselves here for the busy part of the season and may have a few new additions for Round 6 of the HB Concrete Outback Sprintcar Series at Wise Group Northline Speedway.

We thank our officials and volunteers who give their time at every event, and all the teams that have made the HB Concrete Outback Sprintcars Series the success it has been so far.

We are gearing up for our first live streamed race of the year with Clayperview in conjunction with the Next Gen Nationals supporting the up‑and‑coming junior talent in speedway at Wise Group Northline Speedway on 18 July.

The Wingless Sprints division have always put on a great show as a support class, with competitive, on the edge of your seat racing and we can’t wait to see what awesome spectacle the wingless drivers put on for this year’s Chariots of Thunder Sprintcar Series.

Nominations are capped at 36 with the first round of nominations to be open to NT registered cars only until 14th June 2026.

After 14th June, it will be OPEN and available for INTERSTATE cars to register.
