on Monday evening, we have A and B grade playing at our home ground, Kalara Reserve from 6pm 🏟️

This weekend, we have A and B grade playing away at their respective locations & our C grade playing at our home ground, Kalara Reserve! 🏟️

Numbers were a bit of a challenge this week so there is a lot of changes to amongst our teams, please see below for the final player lists!

We truly appreciate all of AFCC women & friends who were able to step in and help fill our C grade as much as possible 🏏💙

We would love to see as many of the AFCC families & friends supporting their Blue Jays on game day!

AFCC would love to announce the 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧'𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬 for the 2026/27 season! 💙 🐦🏏📢

Below are the two women who will guide and mentor the AFCC women throughout the season both at trainings and on game days. They have been around the club since our humble beginning and with the support of their vice captains, we know they will foster great spirits amongst their teams! Staying true to AFCC's values, they will endorse a strong sense of camaraderie and sportsmanship, especially on game days when it is needed the most! 🏏

the cricket blast program is about to commence again! whilst AFCC does not a have a junior team for the season - the program gives your child a chance to learn fundamentals of cricket & have some fun in the sun after school!🏏

the 8 week program begins from October 22nd
Thursdays from 4:30pm - 5:30pm
at the home of the Bluejays - Kalara Reserve 🏟️

It’s MATCH RECAP TIME!!! 🐦💙🏏

Round two saw AFCC A grade finish the day in record time and B & C grade put up a good fight but unfortunately did not get the win this week!

✨🥳 a MASSIVE shoutout to Nathan May for achieving his 100th A grade wicket for AFCC 🥳✨

Here’s the latest match day reports from the skippers themselves:

⭐️ A grade captain - Adon Cousins:

“ A win at the toss saw the A Grade take to the field first, in what was a conclusive win to mark the first home game of the season.

A positive start from Peninsula Pirates with the bat was quickly put to a halt as the bowlers hit their mark, built pressure and, in partnership with the fielders, took their opportunities - including another fine catch by A. Lake within close proximity of the bat. The fielding innings was underscored by N. May’s 3 for 24 off 6 overs, his third wicket bringing up a huge milestone - 100 A Grade wickets for the club. J. May continued his fine form with 3/30 off his 7.5 overs and was well supported by E. Seidel 2/8 off his 7 overs, A. Gibbard 1/30 off 8 overs, M. Hall 1/15 off 4 overs and unrewarded despite some fine bowling, which included 22 consecutive dot balls, M.H. Iqbal finished with 0/3 off 5.

Taking to the crease with 113 runs the target, openers T. Fisher-McCarron and A. Cousins were off to another flyer, which saw the team sitting very pretty at 0/92 after 8 overs. Unfortunately the unbeaten run was ended shortly after, Tom falling for a neat 33 off 25 balls. E. Seidel came to the crease but quickly returned to the sheds falling from a second ball duck, sending M.H.Iqbal to the middle to see out the innings alongside Adon. The match was wrapped up shortly after, Adon finishing on 76* off 29 rocks, with the target of 113 reached in just 9.3 overs.

2 down, 18 to go!”

⭐️ B grade captain - Josh Green:

“ The captain won the toss and elected to bowl, sending the Bluejays into the field for game two of our campaign. The energy was high from the start, and despite the heat, the boys continued to show great spirit and intensity throughout the innings.

B. Bosworth made his Bluejays debut and claimed his first wicket for the club, finishing with an impressive 1/45 from 8 overs. J. Brook was outstanding with 3/59 and two catches, while J. Green continued his strong start to the season with 3/45 and a catch. S. Smith (1/30) and B. Hayes (2/34) also contributed with the ball. Behind the stumps, H.Sparks was excellent, saving multiple boundaries and taking two impressive catches.

The Bluejays bowled Virginia out for 247 and went into the chase full of confidence. H. Sparks (24) and B. Hayes (13) opened the batting before J. Brooks (30) continued building the score. After a tough middle order, debutant B. Bosworth (27) and S. Smith (50)* gave the Bluejays a late glimmer of hope, but the tail was eventually dismissed for 170.

Despite the result, there were plenty of positives to take, particularly the fielding effort, individual performances and overall team energy.

We’ll look to bounce back next week against Angle Vale.”

⭐️ C grade captain - Thomas Alderton:

“ What a cracking day to finally get onto the field to start the season. The skipper lost the toss and Para Vista elected to bat first.

The scorecard doesn't reflect how good our bowling and fielding was but unfortunately, we couldn't bowl them out and they seemed to capitalise on every loose ball with Para Vista finishing 7/170. J. Domoney lead with the ball taking 3/16 off 5 with 2 catches from J. Martin with one of them an absolute screamer with one hand! R. Edwards 1/22 off 5, with 2 safe catches in the deep and a sensational runout with an assist from the keeper. J. Martin 1/38 off 7 and N. Carter 1/27 off 5 also taking wickets. Everyone bowled extremely well today.

Chasing 170 was always going to be a big task for the C grade. Para Vista bowled well and skittled us for 31. It was a hard day of cricket and a loss like that always hurts. The C grade still has a lot to learn but we focus on the positives to takeaway from the game and put that one behind us. Extremely proud of everyone's efforts and we will improve week after week and become a strong competitive cricket side. “
