We are OFF again for this week.
Waves and banks arent cooperating.

We are going to run it back and try again next weekend. We know this is outside of our normal plans, but we'd hate to miss a comp in winter. Please let us know if youre not around next weekend and we will remove you from the heat draw.

See you all next Saturday and hopefully we have something surfable.

“PADDLE OUT & CELEBRATION OF LIFE”
28 JUNE 2026

TONI, BEN, AND COREY WOULD LIKE FOR YOU TO PLEASE JOIN US ON THE 28TH OF JUNE AT DEE WHY BEACH AS WE FAREWELL OUR LOVING DAD AND HUSBAND.

WE ASK IF YOU COULD PLEASE ARRIVE AT 8AM AS THE PADDLE OUT WILL TAKE PLACE AT 9AM.

WE WILL MEET IN FRONT OF DEE WHY POINT – THERE WILL BE TENTS, BANNERS, AND FLAGS WHICH WILL MARK WHERE WE ARE.

AT 9AM WE WILL THEN TAKE TO THE WATER AND PADDLE OUT TO DY POINT TO CONNECT IN A CIRCLE, AND THE SPREADING OF MATT’S ASHES WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE CENTRE.

FOR PEOPLE THAT DON’T WANT TO OR ARE UNABLE TO GET IN THE WATER, YOU WILL STILL BE A PART OF THE FAREWELL AS YOU CAN WATCH FROM THE DEE WHY OCEAN POOLS!

TO FOLLOW THE PADDLE OUT DYSF WILL BE HOLDING BREAKFAST DOWN AT THE BEACH, AND WE WILL GET TOGETHER TO REMEMBER HIS WONDERFUL LIFE.

TO CONCLUDE THE MORNING, WE WILL PLACE HIS MEMORIAL PLAQUE ON THE “DYSF MEMORIAL CHAIR”.

WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE AS WE KNOW HE HAD A VERY WIDESPREAD LIFE AND HAD AN IMPACT ON MANY!

PLENTY OF PARKING IS AVAILABLE IN THE DEE WHY SURF CLUB CAR PARK.

LET’S ALL COME TOGETHER AND GIVE MATTY ONE BIG, LOUD AND PROUD SEND OFF THAT HE DESERVES ❤️

Its with heavy hearts and tears in our eyes that we share the news that last night Matty Hucker lost his battle with cancer.

Matty was an incredible human, a great mentor, a great family man, a frothing surfer, the club president from 91-96, and a mad footy fanatic.

He bled dee why through and through and gave so much back to our beach and the SF community. He was the king of the grommets and any mention of thursday arvo training or a comp got his heart racing.

Matty had a long battle and fought to the very end, he leaves behind his wife and his sons & Corey.

Our thoughts are with the Hucker family during this incredibly sad time.

Thanks for everything, we will miss you, rest easy Matty ❤️

This weekend we've got a crew heading down the coast to the inaugural teams challenge! We are frothing for a few waves on a right point. Comp will run from the 5th - 7th June.
