I AM GREATER THAN MY HIGH AND LOWS
It has been a year since I received life-changing news, that I had been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes while visiting my family in the UK after a long time. I'll never forget the feeling of shock, confusion, and uncertainty when the doctor shared the news.
However, this journey hasn't been only about coping with diabetes or managing the symptoms. It's been about the incredible strength, determination, and hope that I've discovered in myself. Despite the daily challenges that this brings, I've learned to appreciate every moment with loved ones, gained a new perspective on health and adaptability.
I am grateful for the unconditional love and support of my family, friends, and healthcare team, who have been there for me both in moments of triumph and vulnerability.
If you notice any of these symptoms — excessive thirst, frequent urination, rapid weight loss, lethargy and fatigue, vision changes, or a fruity-smelling breath — it's important to get checked as soon as possible.
Here's to another year of thriving, achieving, and demonstrating that T1D can't stop me.
