The Denmark Dragonflies Denmark Dragon Boat Club. Western Australia are taking a couple of weeks off and will recommence training the second week in October.
Maybe you want to join us for the new season?
Check the Denmark Riverside Club web site for full details, or message us after our vacation. We would love to hear from anyone wanting to try our sport or needing a new social outlet in thier life. Nobody needs to attend every session, you can chose 1, 2 or 3 sessions a week or members can come on a casual basis.
Tuesday mornings 6 o'clock sessions will also recommence for the warmer weather then, providing weather is kind and suitable number of paddlers can attend.
Thursday afternoon sessions are at 4.30pm on the water, and Saturday mornings will kick off at 8am. Be early to get the boat set up and to the water.

Things are a bit slower during the cooler months, but when weather permitting, this July we will paddle at 8.30 am Saturdays and 4.30pm Thursdays. (Arrive 15 mins early to get the boat set up and ready) We paddle from the Denmark Riverside Club.
Winter is a great time to learn to paddle and build up strenth for summer fun.
So if you are over 10 and want to try or even if you're only young at heart, please feel welcome to contact us. (Comment or private message) And if you need a hand to adapt to our sport please let us know your needs and we will work together to see if challenges can turn into opportunities.

Saturday 28th March 2026. Our 8am paddling session has been cancelled due to bad weather forecast and insufficient paddlers. Sorry to dissapoint.😢

"Wings on the Water" dragon boat regatta is on May 16th 2026 Racing starts 11.30 on the Denmark River in town.
Dragon boats will race from 11.30am and continue throughout the afternoon. 2 boats at a time race along a 200m course to the beat of their drums, accumulating best times for a trophy and cash prizes.
Spectators are welcome to cheer us on.
DBWA clubs all invited to nominate and enter. (Please support our sponsors where possible)
Special thanks to Denmark Hotel and Denmark Rivermouth Caravan Park for sponsoring the prize money again this year.

It's on again! Yes, our very successful dragon boat regatta Wings on the Water will be on again this autumn.
SAVE THE DATE - MAY 16 2026
Clubs from WA are invited to attend and race a 200m course in Champion boats. 2 boats at a time race, each with10 paddlers, sweep and drummer. Cost $20pp. Event sanctioned by DBWA.
Clubs are invited to contact us for more details or to express an interest.
Great accommodation available in Denmark too.
Racing starts at 11.30am and finishes approx 4.30pm
Spectators will get great viewing from Berridge Park or cross the bridge to Denmark Riverside Club where teams will be congregating near the riverbank for their races. Also onsite coffee van and sausage sizzle.
Evening function at the club for competitors and friends $35pp includes meal.
