More headquarters passing at 5pm Gi class, 6pm MMA explored striking combos and then escaping pins and wall walking to reestablish guard, build to an elbow and win the head height battle, then 7pm continued its focus on front headlock attacks.

Back to the lab after the TSC comp on Saturday. Gi class focused on blending lateral moving, outside distance passing with close up pressure based passing options starting from headquarters. Nogi class worked through the front headlock series - anaconda, darce, Peruvian necktie, ten finger chinstrap choke, ninja choke amd a few other varieties thrown in for good measure. Lots of solid, progressive drilling followed by rolls.

Legend effort by the Bushido Flow Mixed Martial Arts team at TSC9. 6 competitors, 4 on the podium and big heart and technical skills shown by everyone who took the plunge and stepped on the mats. A huge shout out to young Dillon who took home 4 golds from his 4 divisions! An amazing achievement and testimony to his dedication and the learning environment his coaches at a Bushido create for him. Loch Land with an impressive gold and silver in the big boys division, patrick duncan with Silver in his first comp and Veterans Grappling Foundation Limited representative Craig Gresham taking bronze in a talented masters absolute bracket. Can't close this out with mentioning Ryan Rummelhagen who, older than yours truly, had no one in his bracket for masters and entered the adults intermediate nogi. Although not reaching the podium he absolutely crushed it, making the young fellas half his age work for everything and more than held his own! Proud of you mate!

Podium finishes are great, but having a crack, stepping on the mats and being a part of our broader and welcoming BJJ community is what its all about 🤘🏽🥋🤼‍♂️ - coach Matt.

We started with the mentality of prioritising club culture, having a progressive approach to coaching and learning, having fun and ensuring people feel seen and welcomed when they walked in the door.

We have gone from strength to strength and I have loved being able to share the value of Jiu-Jitsu and combat sports with everyone who has stepped on our mats.

A massive, massive thanks to my wife and kids who bear the brunt of my time away and endless obsession with this lifestyle!

A huge thanks must also be extended to my OG day one coaching/support crew who have had my back through thick and thin as well as Wardy, my coach and trusted mentor.
