🇦🇺 Let’s Go Mighty Bucks! 🇦🇺

IIHF has adopted a new format for the World Championships! Things will work a little differently in 2027, with teams split into two groups.

Everyone still plays five games — the big difference is that our final two games will depend on where we finish after the first three.

One thing that might seem a little counterintuitive at first is that we don’t play Chinese Taipei or Israel in the first three games, even though they’re in our group. Instead, our Group B standing is determined by how each of the three Group B teams performs against the teams in Group A.

Where we finish after those three games determines whether we move into the medal/promotion pathway or the relegation pathway for our final two games.
