It is with much sadness that the club announces the passing of former club captain, premiership player, past-president, Life Member, Goodall Cup representative and National representative Tony Martyr.

While Tony’s health hasn’t been the best for a while, he has passed on messages of support to the club and has followed the results from his home in Queensland.

The club sends its condolences to Annette and the rest of the family.

Tony holds a very special place in the clubs history as well as in the story of National and International hockey in this country.

Thanks to Ross Carpenter and the Legends of Australian Ice for the attached information.

The story of Australian ice you just won't find in official records. This first authenticated story of the Australian game will change forever the idea that Australian hockey was a forgotten backwater for a century.

The Blackhawks Ice Hockey Club are pleased to announce that we will be fielding a women’s team in the 2026-27 Ice Hockey Victoria - IHV Women’s League.

Having been a host club of women’s hockey in the Ringwood days our Ladyhawks became foundational players of early competitions.

With the growth of the sport and growing numbers of players, the club felt it was the time to step back in.

We look forward to welcoming new members to the club and hope they embrace our culture, have fun with the game, helping it grow stronger and secure its future.
