Nice trial at the Gold Coast today from our multi millionaire selection Yellow Brick, not extended for second behind current Stradbroke titleholder Spicy Martini.
The 20k purchase, who has topped $4.5m in earnings, looks on song for Sears Racing for his major spring targets in Sydney culminating in the $2m Sydney Stakes at Randwick on October 17.

Can our 2024 Inglis Sydney weanling purchase make it consecutive Group 3 wins and four in a row in tomorrow's Sunline Vase at Ellerslie tomorrow?
We sure hope so!
Good luck to her connections.

Here's my synopsis of our recent French-based purchase, the blue-blooded Defining (GB).
"Very tardily away and raced greenly on debut over 2050m at Saint-Cloud but kept making ground willingly from last for sixth of 10. The winner then scored at listed level & is now G3 placed and the runner-up is subsequently a G3 winner, G1 3rd & 5th in the French Derby.
Second start over 2400m at Saint-Cloud, still ran greenly after leading but fought well not beaten far. Both the winner and runner-up are now stakes performers, the former a G2 winner & G2 placed since, the latter listed placed after winning at Chantilly next time.
Stayed 2400m strongly to win his third start at Compiegne with the runner-up scoring easily at its next start.
A good thing beaten when badly held up before finishing fast for third by a short neck x head over 2400m at Clairefontane next and only other start.
A progressive, well-bred stayer likely to get further than 2400m on the evidence to date. An exciting prospect for Australia."

Good to see our NZ 2000 Guineas winner from last season Romanoff trial so well before racing at Te Rapa Racing today. The other part of our G1 Classic quinella, Affirmative Action, resumes there later this afternoon in the time-honoured Foxbridge Plate (G2). Best of luck to Ballymore Racing NZ

Our good friends and clients Cam and Eva Heron's Highline Thoroughbreds are certainly making their mark on the New Zealand racing and sales scene and we are proud of our association and team work aiding their rise through the ranks.
However, the article below has missed one of our combined success stories - dual stakes winning weanling purchase Glamour Tycoon.
That means, from just eight weanlings we've bought together to have raced, four have become stakes winners from a total of 12 purchases for resale as yearlings.
To date, four just turned three-year-olds are yet to race and all but one of the eight to have started have won with the other placed.
We could easily have had a part in six of the seven stakes winners sold through Highiine's drafts as we consulted on and recommended the post sale purchase of Dark Destroyer to David Archer while Legarto was our best filly in Book 2 in the Covid year we did the Karaka sale on line from Australia but we couldn't convince anyone to buy her while not on site.
Long may it continue!
Footnote: Captive Audience (2yo f Captivant ex Love's A Riddle), our only 2025 weanling purchase and sold through Highline at Karaka this year, won on her trial debut at Foxton today. Will she be out next combined stakes performer?
