💚 Help Us Keep Our Creche Healthy

A friendly reminder to all families that if your child is feeling unwell, please keep them home from creche until they are feeling better.

Young children often share more than just toys, and illnesses can spread quickly through group environments. By keeping sick children at home, you're helping protect other children, families, and our creche team from getting unwell too.

We know it can be inconvenient, and we appreciate your understanding and support in helping us provide a safe and healthy environment for everyone.

For the wellbeing of all children attending the service, our team may ask families to keep an unwell child at home or may refuse attendance where a child is displaying symptoms of illness.

Thank you for helping us keep our creche happy, healthy, and fun for everyone!

Donnybrook Recreation Centre recognised among WA's leading facilities

Recently, the Donnybrook Recreation Centre (DRC) was nominated for the LIWA Regional Facility of the Year Award, with final results to be announced at the 2026 WA Aquatic & Recreation Conference and Industry Awards in Perth.

DRC representatives attended the event, and while the award was ultimately presented to Karratha Leisureplex, the nomination itself is a significant achievement and reflects the hard work, dedication and professionalism of our staff in delivering quality facilities, programs and services to the community.

Our team also participated in a range of professional development sessions throughout the conference. This provided valuable opportunities to learn about current and emerging trends in the recreation and leisure industry, hear from respected speakers, and connect with professionals from across Western Australia. The knowledge and insights gained will help staff continue to enhance the services, programs and facilities offered not only at the DRC, but through our community services into the future.

We are incredibly proud of our DRC team, and extend our gratitude to the sporting clubs, user groups, volunteers and community members whose ongoing support contributes to the Centre's success. While the award wasn't secured this year, being recognised among Western Australia's leading regional recreation facilities is an achievement our whole community can be proud of.

Congratulations to Karratha Leisureplex on being named Regional Facility of the Year, and thank you to everyone who helped make this nomination possible!

📢 Pool Notice | School Swimming Lessons 🏊‍♂️

From Monday 31 August to Friday 25 September, the pool will be busier than usual between 9:00am and 2:45pm due to school swimming lessons.

During these times, pool space may be limited and there will be increased activity around the facility as we welcome local students for their swimming and water safety programs.

🏊‍♂️ VacSwim enrolments are now open!

Help your child build confidence in the water and develop important water safety skills during the school holidays.

VacSwim programs are delivered by the WA Department of Education and are available for children aged 5 to 17 years. Enrolments are now open for the October 2026 and Summer 2026/27 holiday programs.
