DAY 4: Our Most Iconic Makeup Looks
Whether it’s glitter, diamantes, contact lenses, the perfect shade of eyeshadow or those tiny finishing touches that take a look to the next level, we LOVE the details.
Every year, makeup becomes another part of the storytelling. From fairies and mermaids to cats, bunnies, villains and everything in between, we love watching our characters truly come to life from head to toe.
Sometimes beautiful, sometimes bold, sometimes a little bit crazy, but always unmistakably Stepping Out.

If there’s a costume that needs just one more rhinestone, an extra ruffle, a little more sparkle or something completely outrageous brought to life… Sonya is our girl. 💎
From the first sketch to the final finishing touch, so many of our most unforgettable Stepping Out looks have come from her incredible imagination (and many, MANY hours behind the sewing machine!).
Today, Sonya is opening the archives and sharing some of her favourite creations from over the years. Although asking her to choose favourites may have been our hardest challenge yet.

It’s Week 5 and we are about to embark on Concert 2026. We are getting a lot of queries in regards for both 2026 and BEYOND and we really appreciate your interest. A common question , “ IS IT TOO LATE TO JOIN?” and the answer is a resounding “ No! It’s the perfect time”
Our productions are an absolute highlight of our year and rehearsals are just about to begin. We would love you to come and discover the magic Stepping Out Dance Factory and invite you to trial with us.

We are BEYOND thrilled to finally introduce the cast of our 2026 production, BEYOND.
This year, we step beyond the stories we know and into a world where fairytales intertwine, paths cross and nothing is quite as it seems. From wishes and wonder to witches and wolves, from towering beanstalks to glowing lanterns, familiar stories will take unexpected turns as we journey deeper into the woods. 🌙✨
At the heart of it all are these extraordinary young people, who will lead us through the magic alongside our entire Stepping Out family.
Because sometimes you have to leave the path you know, wander a little further and get a little lost… to discover what lies BEYOND. 🌿
We cannot wait for you to meet them and marvel at the magic that unfolds when you trust the paths life takes you on. ✨
Stepping Out Dance Factory
Curtain down on a Spectacular Eisteddfod Season. Thank you to all who chauffeured and cheered over this busy but beautiful time. The growth this year as people and performers has undoubtedly been our greatest success. It’s such a joy to share in these young people not only as performers but as people. It’s so very humbling to know that we have played a small role in them and to witness the camaraderie and friendships between the dancers and dance families is very rewarding. The dressing room antics are always so entertaining ( and SQUISHY in all ways!)

Your energy, enthusiasm and tireless, voluntary efforts to give these precious young people a platform to shine are so appreciated. Thank you for championing these opportunities for our kids.
To our own dance families, we feel so blessed. Firstly that you chose us and continue to choose us to help guide your children and make memories with them. They won’t remember the places but they will never forget the joy and life lessons that team work and performing bestows. From the earliest of starts to the latest of nights, you show up for us and your children. You ferry props, lug dream duffels packed to the brim with not only their costumes and shoes but all their hopes and dreams. You make quick changes but give long hugs and are always the first to congratulate or commiserate.
To our own families, we look forward to spending a bit more time with you but thank you for understanding that this all fills our buckets ( but sometimes depletes it too ) and loving us through it all.
We congratulate our fellow competitors who inspire us. It’s a brilliant bow to the Performing Arts that we have so many talented and creative people flourishing in the Central West and empowering our future generations.

From her first trophy to her latest, it’s been a joy to have danced through her milestones with her. Big congratulations to Willow who was awarded 2nd in the Hip Hop Championship at Wellington Eisteddfod. We couldn’t be prouder of that little girl who is growing into the most spectacular human.
