🦜 THE COCKATOO CREW IS COMING TO DUBBO! 🦜
With just 2 WEEKS TO GO, another team is getting ready to have a crack at the Inland Petroleum City of Dubbo International Fours — and this mob will be making their FIRST appearance at the tournament!
Travelling up from Cockatoo & District Bowls Club in Victoria, around 50km east of Melbourne, they might be first-timers in Dubbo… but they’re certainly not short on credentials!
💥 Anthony Young — Past President, resident coach, former Club Champion and his name is scattered all over the honour boards.
💥 Ken Earle — Club Pairs Champion who has also represented Mallacoota at State Finals.
💥 Kevin Murray — Former board member and Minor Club Champion.
💥 Megan Twigg — Ladies Champion 25/25 and, just to top it off, the CURRENT OPEN CLUB CHAMPION!
Plenty of club titles, plenty of experience and no doubt they’ll be coming north ready to ruffle a few feathers!
They might be new to the tournament, but will they be one of the teams still hanging around when the serious money is on the line?
WATCH OUT DUBBO — THE COCKATOOS ARE COMING!
And we’re nowhere near finished yet!
We’ve still got more teams to reveal, and there are some serious stars of the game yet to feature in our countdown. The field is stacked, the prize money is huge, and the closer we get, the bigger this tournament is looking!

🏆 DARTS DO THE DOUBLE! 🏆
The Darts claimed a double victory yesterday, taking out both respective graded pairs finals at the Roos!
The players had just about every weather condition thrown at them — sunshine and wind to start, a brief storm through the middle, then a change in wind direction and cooler conditions to finish. Well done to all eight players for handling some very tricky conditions.
🏆OPEN MINOR PAIRS FINAL
Kelly Dart & Steve Ryan proved too strong for the two old stagers Dave McGrath & Col Teal.
The match was locked at 7-all early before Kelly and Steve strung three ends together to open up a five-shot lead. After dropping the next end, they put the foot down and won the remaining six ends to seal a well-earned victory.
A special mention to Kelly Dart, who adds another trophy to the cabinet with her third Minor Pairs title! 👏
🔴 MEN’S GRADED PAIRS FINAL
The second final was a completely different story, with Natural Dart & Gavin Dart producing a dominant display against Barry Fernando & Mick Smith.
The Dart combination raced away to a 24-3 victory, with the final six ends not required.
Natural and Gavin were simply too consistent on the day, while Barry and Mick had one of those afternoons they’ll be happy to forget!
As the 2025-26 club championship season draws to a close, we now have just the Women’s and Men’s Minor Singles Championships remaining, with those titles to be next weekend.
📅 MEMBERS — SAVE THE DATE!
Our Presentation Night will be held on Saturday, 5 December.

🔥 ANOTHER VERY INTERESTING TEAM IS HEADING TO DUBBO! 🔥
They’re coming a long way to raid the $60,000 first prize! 💰
As we get closer to one of the biggest events on the Club Dubbo calendar, it’s time to reveal another team — and this one is travelling plenty of kilometres to have a crack at the cash!
We’re very grateful to Chris Carswell for getting a team together and making the trip to Dubbo for the 5th Inland Petroleum City of Dubbo Fours, where a whopping $60,000 FIRST PRIZE is up for grabs! 🏆
This combination brings plenty of state success, experience and a touch of international class.
Leading the way up front are Gary Smith, Daryl Steinwedel and Paul Davis — all current South Australian Over-60 State representatives, with all three having South Australian titles to their names.
At the back end is Chris Carswell, a former Scottish international who now resides and plays in South Australia. Chris also brings a number of Scottish titles and plenty of experience to the team. 🏴
It’s fantastic to welcome another player with international credentials to West Dubbo, adding to the different nationalities already represented in this year’s field.
On paper, this looks a very handy combination — and they certainly won’t be travelling all this way just to make up the numbers! 🔥
Can these South Aussies and their Scottish skipper raid Dubbo and get their hands on some of that $60,000?
Another team revealed… and we’ve still got a few more outstanding combinations to come!
The excitement is building for Monday, 21 September.

🔥 TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT – INLAND PETROLEUM CITY OF DUBBO $150,000 FOURS 🔥
Another Riverina combination is heading to the Roos territory, bringing together players from Narrandera Sporting & Bowling Club and Wagga RSL.
🦘 SKIP – DAVID IVANOFF | Narrandera
A vastly experienced campaigner who has competed at State level, has been recognised among the top 30 bowlers in NSW, and is a Region Senior Fours Champion. David has also represented Narrandera at State Pennant Finals and is no stranger to our International Fours.Away from bowls, David loves his fishing, sport and his motorbikes — and lives by the motto: “It’s not a race unless you’re coming second!”
🦘 THIRD – RICHARD DURNAN | Narrandera
Another experienced Narrandera bowler with plenty of big-event experience. Richard was part of Narrandera’s NSW Grade 3 State Pennant runner-up side and teamed with David to win the Region Senior Fours Championship.A loyal St Kilda supporter — yes, we won’t hold that against him! — Richard travels far and wide chasing a game of bowls.
🦘 SECOND – CHARLIE BUSH | Wagga RSL
Charlie has only been bowling for around five years, but he’s certainly making his mark, reaching the 2026 Wagga RSL Minor Singles Final, where he went down in a tight 25–22 battle.
He loves the challenge of bowls, the friendships it creates, and when he’s not on the green you’ll probably find him fishing or travelling in the caravan.
🦘 LEAD – NICK WILLIAMS | Wagga RSL
Nick rounds out the team up front. He loves the competitive side of bowls and enjoys spending time with family and friends, along with keeping fit in the gym.
Can David and his boys sneak into the Top 8 and book themselves a spot in the finals? David has been here for the past four editions, so he knows exactly what this tournament is all about. Could this finally be his year with this crew beside him?
This is a great country combination with experience at the back and plenty of enthusiasm up front.
Can the boys from Narrandera and Wagga make some noise against one of the strongest International Fours fields we’ve assembled?

🦘TWO BIG FINALS IN THE ROOS’ TERRITORY TOMORROW!🦘
The Roos’ Territory will host two cracking club championship finals tomorrow, with all the action starting from **1:00pm**.
🏆MEN’S GRADED PAIRS FINAL
Barry Fernando & Mick Smith will take on a quality combination that many would have had among the pre-tournament favourites.
Barry has already tasted Major Pairs success this year and will lead up front for Mick, arguably one of the best left-handers the club has seen over the past decade.
With Barry having three bowls to work with, if he can set the heads up early, Mick could have plenty to work with. But they’ll be up against two quality top-grade bowlers (Natural & Darty) who somehow managed to sneak under the radar through the points system!
🏆OPEN GENDER MINOR PAIRS FINAL This one should be every bit as good!
One of the great things about this championship is that it’s open to men’s, women’s or mixed combinations, and it’s fantastic to see rising women’s star Kelly Dart into the final alongside Club President Steve Ryan.
They’ll face two former bowlers from across the bridge who have made the move over to test themselves on this side of the river! They survived an absolute last-bowl thriller on Wednesday to earn their place in the final.
All the action starts from 1:00pm tomorrow.
Come down to Club Dubbo and enjoy the bowls from the comfort of the Bowlers Viewing Lounge.
Good luck to all players — both games should be absolute crackers! 👍

🔥 ST JOHNS PARK ARE HEADING TO DUBBO 🔥
We are excited to welcome one of the powerhouse clubs of Australian bowls St Johns Park Bowls , back to the $150,000 Inland Petroleum City of Dubbo Fours!
A huge thank you to Anthony Cottee at St Johns Park for supporting our tournament since it began. Their continued involvement has been fantastic — and what a team they are sending to Dubbo this year!
⭐ **Hayden Bojkowski – a previous 3-time winner of this event, so he certainly knows what it takes to succeed on the West Dubbo greens.
⭐ **Gerard – a local boy from the bush, only a few hours from Dubbo. During his time at Cowra he claimed both State Singles and State Pairs titles , and now he’s made the move to the big city to test his ability against the best.
⭐ **Beau – a new signing for St Johns Park who brings plenty of titles and State representative experience, also was emerging Jackaroo.
⭐ **Michael – leading the way up front, with a Club Pairs title, Regional runner-up finish and BPL Cup experience to his name.
There is plenty of class, experience and country flavour in this St Johns Park combination, and we can’t wait to see how they perform against some of the strongest teams getting around.
👏 A massive thanks again to St Johns Park for continuing to support our tournament.
It’s getting closer day by day… and we still have more marquee teams yet to unveil!
