🏏 PLAYER ANNOUNCEMENT 🏏

THE MAN. THE MYTH. THE LEGEND. TOM HANNETT. 👑

We’re bloody excited to announce that Tom Hannett will be back in the LDCC colours for the 2026/27 season — this time taking on the role of Vice Captain.

After captaining the side last season, Tom is taking a slight step back this year due to work commitments, but thankfully we’re not letting him get too far away! 😂

Tom brings proven ability with the bat, plenty of experience and a whole lot of leadership back into the squad.

And if you needed any more proof of what he can do… Tom is a Ken Gibbs Medalist, taking out the award in 2024/25. 🏆

We’re stoked to have him back and can’t wait to see what he brings this season.

🏏 WELCOME TO LDCC, ARSALAN EUBAID! 🏏

We’re excited to welcome Arsalan Eubaid from Adelaide, South Australia to the LDCC family as both a player and club coach for the 2026/27 season!

Arsalan joins us from Adelaide Turf Cricket Club and brings plenty of experience both on and off the field, including his experience as a Cricket Australia Level 2 qualified coach and through his own cricket academy.

We’re incredibly excited to have Arsalan on board and can’t wait to see the knowledge and experience he brings to our players this season.

👉 Head down to LDCC on Thursday 24 September to meet Arsalan, get to know the new coach and kick off the season together!

🏏 PLAYER ANNOUNCEMENT 🏏

We’re thrilled to announce that Matt Smith will be back in the LDCC colours this season!

After an incredible seven years as club coach, Matt leaves behind one hell of a record, taking our A Grade side to finals in all seven seasons, including 6 Grand Final appearances and 5 premierships. 🏆

And as if that wasn’t enough, Matt also captained the A Grade side for 6 of those 7 years.

His other silverware includes:
🏆 6x One Day Premierships
🏆 2x T20 Premierships

But the numbers only tell part of the story.

Matt has given an enormous amount to this club over the past seven years; his time, knowledge, energy and most importantly, his belief in the players and people around him. He’s helped shape not just successful teams, but a club culture we’re incredibly proud of.

We can’t thank you enough Matt, for everything you’ve done for LDCC. We’re pretty bloody lucky to have had you leading the club for the past seven years, and even luckier that you’re not going anywhere just yet!

Now it’s time to see Matt back out on the field as a player, and we couldn’t be happier to have him with us.

Due to some works for the new pavilion being completed near the cricket nets, our junior and senior training/meet the coach day this Sunday has been postponed.

So instead of seeing you all Sunday, we will see you at the nets on Thursday the 24th September. We will post training times/details over the coming days!

Remember to get your merch orders in by Tuesday 22nd September or you will miss out.

🏏 THE 2026/27 CRICKET SEASON STARTS HERE! 🏏

A reminder that our big season kick-off is happening this Sunday, 20 September at Bryants Oval, Deledio Recreation Reserve, Dunolly!

🏏 Junior session — 10:00am
🏏 Senior training — 12:00pm
🔥 BBQ & Meet the Coach — 1:00pm

Whether you’re a junior looking to sharpen your skills, a senior getting ready for the season, or just keen to meet the new coach and catch up with the cricket community, come along and get involved!

And don’t forget, the club shop is open until 22 September, so get your orders in before it closes!
