Greek dancing at its best! Established in 1985, we are proud to be one of Sydney’s longest running Greek dancing schools.
Offering both group classes and private lessons, we also offer group bookings for special occassions. Sydney Hellenic Dance Company is a Greek dancing school that has been operating in Sydney for 28 years. For over two decades we have taught students traditional and contemporary Greek dance. Each year our students perform at a number of community events as well as at our mid-year Dinner Dance and
Christmas Concert. The aim of Sydney Hellenic Dance Company is to instill in our students a love of dance and pride of their cultural heritage. We believe all students should be given the opportunity to learn and experience Greek dancing. Our company staff implement fair and equitable teaching practices and are committed to the development of each and every student. In our classes students are exposed to a variety of performance styles and experience a combination or traditional dance, contemporary dance, choreographed routines, drama, mime, entertainment and traditional song.

Hassapiko for Beginners 💙
Hassapiko is a complex dance, so the best way to introduce it is by breaking it down into simple, symmetrical patterns. By repeating the same movements on both the right and left sides, dancers build muscle memory, improve coordination and develop balanced technique.
Once those foundations feel natural, they’re ready to progress to the more intricate combinations that make Hassapiko such a magical dance.
