TRY THE TRACK

DHBC will be hosting 2 try the track events at Tempe Velodrome. This is a great opportunity to dip your toes into track cycling!!

The limit for each event is just 16 riders so be sure to RSVP via EventBrite soon, as there is not capacity for walk ins.

Remember to indicate your preferred bike size, we will do our best to accommodate everyone but bikes will be lent out on a first in best dressed basis.

A record-setter and pioneer in the face of discrimination: we welcome Margaret McLachlan to the AusCycling Hall of Fame.

In the 1960s, McLachlan defied the NSW Amateur Cycling Union – which did not permit female racers – and set major endurance records, such as riding Sydney to Melbourne in 58 hours and 33 minutes.

Her trailblazing achievements earned her a complete ban from the Union, but laid the foundation for women’s participation in our sport.

In 1980, she co-founded the NSW Women’s Cycling Commission, advocating for greater opportunities and recognition for female cyclists. McLachlan was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in 2000.
