It's a real problem and when there is already a definition of what a legal ebike is the confusion and issue has come about from police not being able to enforce it.
If you drive/ride an illegal vehicle , regardless of if it's a car, motor bike, ebike, escooter police MUST have the authority to enforce the law and penalise those doing the wrong thing.
We DO NOT NEED NEW LAWS, ENFORCE WHAT IS THERE and stop punishing those doing the right thing.

Maitland City Council please lobby to the relevant political figures to sort this out. It's not that hard.

Many riders meet at Newcastle Velo, fill up drink bottles at the Velo and even cut a few laps on road bikes at the Velo. Try something different in your road training this Winter, try riding the Velodrome on track bikes. It’s great for bike skills and pedalling efficiency.

Many riders in the pro peloton all come from track backgrounds Ganna, Milan, Welsford and let’s not forget the Women Kopecky, Dygert and Wiebes.
