After four seasons at The Nest, Edgeworth Eagles FC would like to sincerely thank Peter McGuinness for his dedication, leadership and contribution to our Club as First Grade Head Coach.
Peter took charge of our First Grade side in 2023 and, across the four seasons that followed, led the Eagles through a period of consistent success and competitiveness at the highest level of football in Northern NSW.
Under Pete’s leadership, the Eagles reached the finals in three consecutive seasons, contested the 2024 NPL Men’s NNSW Grand Final, and twice qualified for the national Round of 32 of the Australia Cup, including the memorable occasion of welcoming A-League opposition Western United to The Nest in 2023.
His contribution was also recognised across the wider football community, with Peter named Northern NSW Football Coach of the Year in both 2024 and 2025, an outstanding achievement and fitting recognition of the respect he earned throughout the competition.
But Peter's contribution to Edgeworth extends well beyond results.
Throughout his four seasons, he gave an enormous amount of time, energy and commitment to our players and our Club. He led with professionalism, cared deeply about the people around him and remained committed to developing players and giving opportunities to the next generation coming through our pathway.
There have been big games, finals campaigns, Australia Cup nights, plenty of memorable moments and, undoubtedly, a few stressful afternoons along the way.
As Peter's time as our First Grade Head Coach comes to an end, we thank him for everything he has given to Edgeworth Eagles FC and wish him and his family nothing but the very best for whatever comes next.
Four seasons. Two Coach of the Year awards. Countless memories.
