A big year for our Seniors Co-Captain Ryan Doolan. He has taken out all the Hart Sport QFA Division 1 end of year Awards and has a third senior Premiership to his credit. 2026 will be a year to remember.

It was a big night for the Mayne Tigers at the SEQ Community Football Awards tonight with Ryan Doolan dominating the awards taking out the Duncanson Todd Medal for the Best and Fairest in the Hart Sport QFA Division 1 competition as well as being voted the Bill Ryan Most Valued Player by the Coaches in QFA Division 1. Quite an effort from Full Forward where he also took out the Highest Goal Kicker Award as well. Other Tigers to poll highly were Zac Quin who came 4th in the Duncanson Todd Medal and 3rd in the Bill Ryan Trophy while Duncan McCabe was 6th in the Bill Ryan Trophy.

In other grades, George Hiotis polled 6th in the Hart Sport QFA Division 1 Reserves and Liam Mulcahy was 9th in the QFA Division 3 North Competition.

Bob Gower was presented with an AFLQ Service Award for his extensive service to football in Queensland over more than 30 years.

Ryan Doolan was inducted into the Mayne Football Club Hall of Fame on Friday night at the Annual Presentation Night at Tattersalls.

At just 21 years of age this is a remarkable achievement for the goal kicking ace. He kicked 73 goals in the 2025 season to win the Hart Sport QFA Division 1 Leading Goalkicker Medal following on from being runner up in 2024 with 66 goals to Mayne Tigers Zac Quin who kicked 81 goals in that year.

He has backed that up again this year to finish the 2026 season with 80 goals and the most for the league once again to take his cumulative total to 273 goals.

A League medal qualifies a player for Hall of Fame Membership under the Mayne Tigers criteria.

Ryan was also the stand in Captain for the 2025 Premiership season once Captain Daniel Schmidt was injured and was Co-Captain with Daniel this year for the 2026 Premiership. He is now a three time Premiership player with the Tigers and has already accumulated a remarkable cabinet full of silverware.

The Mayne Tigers congratulates Ryan on his Hall of Fame membership and looks forward to seeing him continue to lead the Tigers for many years to come.

Senior Coach Jack Gartlan was awarded Life Membership of the Mayne Football Club on Friday night at the Annual Presentation night at Tattersalls.

Jack came to the Tigers at the beginning of 2016 from the North Shore Football Club in the Barwon League to go on and play in the three peat Senior Premiership that year. He suffered a range of injuries over his time limiting his senior games but he was eligible to play in the 2019 Reserves Premiership which defeated a star studded Noosa team.

He took up a co-coaching role for the Reserves with Bill Stephens for the 2022 season taking the Tigers to the narrowest of losses to Coorparoo in the Grand Final. He was a playing coach for the 2023 Reserves Premiership with Bill overcoming Coorparoo this time who were unbackable until the Tigers prevailed on the big day.

Jack was selected as Senior Co-Coach with Jeremy Watts for the 2024 and 2025 seasons and took on the role stand alone in 2026.
Jack now goes down in Tiger history as their most successful coach after completing the Senior Premiership three peat from 2024 to 2026 beating Coorparoo, Springwood and University on top of the 2023 Reserve Grade win. Five Grand Finals in succession and he has signed on for 2027 in wonderful news for the club.

Jack and his partner Lauren are also very active members of the club’s Social Committee binding the playing group together on and off the field.

Congratulations Jack on a wonderful eleven years of service to our club.

Zac Quin goes back to back to win his third Keith Beavis Club Champion trophy last night at the Tigers Annual Presentation Night at Tattersalls.

Tom Eccleston took out the Reserves Graham Walters Best and Fairest, Dakodah Cott the Glenda Barber Best and Fairest in the Womens and Logan Brown the Thirds John Laing Best and Fairest Award.

Marty Puncken was presented the Jack Kennedy Best Club Person in a premiere night for the Black and Gold.

Congratulations to our youngest Coaches who took on the Reserves this year. Daniel Schmidt took the job on after a very unlucky 2025 when he was appointed Captain of the Seniors but was ruled out for the year with a shoulder reconstruction. He was given a taste of the coaching gig with the Seniors and was a first up recommendation of Senior Coach Jack Gartlan for the Two's role in 2026. He took on the job while once again being one of the Senior Co-Captains in a huge commitment. Daniel is also a very active Committee Member, Social Club Leader and never stops taking the leadership road.

He was joined by Premiership player Haydn Petersen as his Assistant which has proven to be a very big job with Daniel playing seniors. The two have done a sensational job taking a new group of boys to the Grand Final coming within a whisker of a Premiership.

Well done to both these young men who have agreed to continue in their coaching careers in 2027.

Congratulations to our Senior Coaching Group who have mentored our Playing Group to a second three peat from 2024 to 2026. The planning for the way forward commenced following the 2023 season when long term Coach, Life Member and Hall of Fame Member Josh Duffy hung up the whistle after a very successful period under his guidance.

Jack Gartlan was coming off the back of Coaching the Reserves to the 2023 Premiership with Bill Stephens so was an obvious candidate. Thanks to some great relationships, Ricky Nolan referred Jeremy Watts to the Tigers on the back of their relationship in Darwin while Danny Craven contacted his long term friend Tony Lynn who had just come on to the market. In spite of all three men having not met each other before which is rare in coaching partnerships, the three men have worked seamlessly together to create this incredible result.

Add our incredible stats analysis man, Sean Doolan and the group was set.

AFL legend, Tigers Life Member and Hall of Famer, Danny Craven has been the dedicated key to masterminding the Tigers two three peats and overall success since 2014. The Tigers could not have been more fortunate to have him in the Den. Six Senior Premierships, seven Reserves Premierships and a Thirds one as well since 2014.
