Our 4th Vida Super Orange event of the season was held yesterday at Casa D’Abruzzo Club Epping, with 18 players taking to the court and competing in four matches each across an action-packed afternoon.

👏 Congratulations to Caleb Wilson on winning the Boys’ Singles, with Elwyn Ma finishing as runner-up after a great tournament.

🏆 In the Girls’ Singles, Diane Wong took out the title after defeating Julia Tanaka in the final.

A fantastic afternoon of competition, with plenty of great tennis, match play and development on display. Well done to all 18 players! 🎾🙌

The 2026 JDS GBS125 Vida Epping is a Tennis Australia endorsed event held at the Casa D'Abruzzo Club in Epping.

Entry is now Open for the junior event, which is held over two days with 10&U, 12&U, and 16&U age groups available. This will be a singles only event.

10&U Singles - Part of the Tennis Victoria Green Ball Series
The Tennis Victoria Green Ball Series is designed to offer 10/U players a progression from local
competitions to state-level representation while also serving as a qualifying pathway for the Super 10s program. This is the next step after Super Orange in our talent pathway. Vida Tennis runs a number of these events each year.

12&U and 16&U Singles
These Junior Development Series age groups will be round robin to allow all players to play a number of matches over the two days, with matches going towards a players UTR rating.

There isn't a one-size-fits-all answer, but this guide is a great starting point. Age, height, strength and playing level all play a part.

The right racquet doesn't just make tennis easier—it helps young players develop better skills, confidence and a lifelong love of the game.

A simple guide:
🔴 Red Ball (5-8 yrs): 19""-23"" racquet
🟠 Orange Ball (8-10 yrs): 23""-25"" racquet
🟢 Green Ball (9-11 yrs): 25""-26"" racquet
🟡 Yellow Ball (11+ yrs): 26""-27"" racquet (depending on height and strength)

Remember, age is only a guide. A player's height, strength and stage of development are the most important factors.

Before buying the next racquet, ask your coach. The right racquet today will help your child improve much faster than one they'll "grow into."
