Just a reminder that Monday 8th June 2026, the pool will be closed for the King’s Birthday public holiday.

Lessons and pool access will be as usual on Saturday and Sunday.

Due to maintenance within the pool, there will be no free swim before and after classes today as two lanes will be closed.

The one lap lane will only be available for gym members for swimming laps.

This journey is about healing, and reclamation. I’m not trying to prove anything to anyone. I’m just trying to reframe my childhood trauma. For 6 years, I didn’t touch the water. Growing up, swimming wasn’t mine. It belonged to a set of expectations I didn’t set for myself. I walked away at 17 because I truly hated it—or at least, I hated who I had to be when I did it. Going back at 23 isn’t about a “comeback.” I don’t consider myself a competitive swimmer at all. This is about healing. It’s about reclamation. There’s a massive difference between doing something because you’re told to and doing it because you choose to. Now, the water is quiet. No clocks, no pressure—just me. It turns out, I actually love it. Sometimes you have to revisit the things that “broke” you as a kid to realise they don’t have to stay broken. You get to rewrite the meaning. What did you hate in your childhood that — if you revisited it now, on your own terms — you might actually love?

And if you want to use the pool over the School holidays, pick up your swim card between 4pm and 6pm tomorrow night, if you have paid in full or are on direct debit. Pool access will be via the gym entrance, and times will be as per gym staffed hours.
