Just a little highlight reel from our Radiant adventures on retreat in Sri Lanka this year. This is only half the week! Part two coming soon (aka when I sit down and make that reel… studio owner life 🤯😜😂).

We luxuriated for seven days in the surrounds of Kurulu Bay | Boutique Hotel in Sri Lanka, the most magnificent retreat venue there ever was on Sri Lanka’s southern coast. From this glorious base we yoga’d, wined and dined, adventured, swam and slept.

Jules Jenkinson joined me, Megan Gamble, to share potent teachings on the goddesses, among other mythology and stories ✨🐒. Our yogis committed wholeheartedly to the practice and the transformation was real. You get out what you put in.

The connections formed in a retreat container like this also run deep. It’s heart-warming to see hello’s and hugs exchanged back at the studio when the group see one another again 💛. And at least half of them have vowed to return again in 2027 - we’re heading back to Kurulu Bay July 18-25 with myself and Jules. Details and bookings will open soon. Wanna come? 🌴

Three fresh new faces joining the team at Yoga Spot Fairfield this Spring ☀️🌱☀️🌱

Welcome to Abbie Kindred Women, Josh _shu.shumna, and Ben Ben Scarfo 👋

Each of these beautiful humans is going to share what they know and love with our community and we couldn’t be more excited to launch the new Spring timetable TODAY.

Join Abbie on Tuesdays for a 6.15pm Integrated Yoga practice - think Hatha Yoga style sequencing, with pranayama, kundalini kriya, mantra and meditation woven throughout the postures and practice. Basically, the deep, embodied and authentic way we like to share yoga in a juicy 75-min format. 💚

Josh will be offering Gentle Yoga & Sound on Thursday Sept 3 & 17 at 7.30pm as part of our Spring Pop-Up series. Josh completed teacher training with us last year and has been on an inspired mission to learn, grow and share. We’re thrilled to see him formally step into a teaching role. He is soooo ready. 🥰

Ben is taking over the Friday 6.15pm Yin and will bring his experience as a breathwork instructor into the mix. Ben has been covering classes at the studio for some time and we already know you love his thoughtful Yin and his gentle energy. Sometimes you meet people on this path who you just know will land with your community, and Ben is exactly this for us. ✨

Come along and support this crew, and our other amazing teachers, as we support you in guiding these practices. Win-win.

Been posting a bit less on here but busy behind the scenes cooking up some fun events and happenings for Spring 🌱

So much to look forward to in this last season for Yoga Spot Fairfield (at least in the space as we know it…).

Our first guest teacher is Ryan Mannix - join him for a Progressions Masterclass on Mon Sept 14. Ryan is a teacher’s teacher and a bloody good human. Can’t wait to go upside down with him in this 90-minute old-school practice where we’ll use the wall and assist one another with inversions. 🤸‍♀️

There’s also an Asana Clinic on Sun Sept 27 with me, Megan Gamble. This one is FREE for studio members and those on our Spring membership 🌼. We’ll look at alignment, how to integrate your breath in Hot & Flow classes, and ways to make the poses work for your body. Plenty of time to ask questions and pick my brain. 🧠

Then there’s Teacher Training 🤓. Myself and Amy Leonard-King are rolling out our 200hr YTT from October to December. There’s slightly less contact hours this year with some additional online modules. Also plenty of opportunity to gather in-person at Yoga Corner, where the learnings as a group are always so rich and potent. We welcome those who want to teach and those who don’t. This course is for anyone wanting to grow their practice and dive into some self-study.

Our Spring Renewal membership is also a great way to reinvigorate your practice or just come hang with me and the amazing teaching team at Yoga Spot Fairfield. It’s $450 upfront for 3 months of UNLIMITED YOGA + a bunch of studio perks like access to pop-up yoga, workshops, discounts on guest teacher sessions, and win a private yoga sesh. We want to share the gifts of yoga with as many people as possible until December so get along. Let us support you, as you support us.

There’s links in the bio to sign up for all these things 👆. Someone told me that prompt doesn’t work anymore and frankly, I dunno what does. It’s a wild time to be in the business of yoga. Yoga land full-stop. But here we are 🤷‍♀️. Knee-deep and loving it til we shapeshift into what’s next. You know where to find us. 🧘‍♀️🧘‍♂️🧘

The lovely Bec aka Bec | Dundas ☯️ has been MIA from teaching in recent weeks and we’re all feeling her absence.

The good news is Bec will be back on Wednesday nights really soon - August 19 to be exact! Bec has been busy holding down the home fort whilst her talented partner performs in WA.

Huge thanks to Yoga with Angela for stepping in to fill the Wednesday night void 🙏

We’ve got some other timetable and studio news to share in coming weeks. There’s new faces, new classes and a new Spring membership in the works 🌱 . Plus guest teachers, retreat announcements, pop-up yoga, and more. Can’t wait to round out 2026 with our incredible community. Stay tuned 👀

Ever notice how stress seems to settle in your back and shoulders?

Seated Twist (Ardha Matsyendrasana) is named after the great yogi Matsyendra. Ardha means half, Matsyendra is the Lord of the Fishes, and asana means pose. Together, it translates to Half Lord of the Fishes Pose.

This gentle twisting pose helps improve spinal mobility, supports healthy digestion, and releases tension through the back and shoulders. It's a beautiful reminder that sometimes the smallest movements can help us feel lighter, calmer, and more balanced.

You don't need to be the most flexible person in the room. You simply need to show up, breathe, and give yourself a moment to reset. 💛

Sometimes, a slow practice like Yin Yoga is exactly what your body and mind need.

Benefits of Yin Yoga:
✨ Improves flexibility and mobility
✨ Can help in releasing muscle and joint tension
✨ Calms the nervous system
✨ Reduces stress and anxiety
✨ Encourages mindfulness and relaxation
✨ Supports better sleep and recovery

Take a moment to slow down and reconnect with yourself.

We offer Yin Yoga classes 5 days a week. The next class is Friday 6pm – Candlelit Yin. Grab a pass via the link in bio and we'll see you on the mat.

Shoulderstand (Sarvangasana), often called the Queen of Asanas, is an inversion that helps improve circulation, strengthens the shoulders and core, and when done with a steady breath and sense of confidence, promotes calm.

More than just turning your body upside down, Shoulderstand is an opportunity to slow down, grow your practice, and see things from a new perspective.

Ready to deepen your experience of yoga? See the link in bio to find a class that works for you.

A reminder to self and others: running a yoga retreat is always a good idea. Going on a yoga retreat is always a good idea. So much more to share from our Radiant experience this week in Sri Lanka ✨

It’s our last full day together as a group and we started with a morning practice exploring Ganesha 🐘, and a sequence written by some of last year’s YTT grads who are retreating with us. Last night we did Puja at One Bhakthi School of Yoga & Ayurveda. This arvo the group will create a flower mandala before an arvo practice. The yoga goddess that is Jules Jenkinson has shared her heart and so many delightful teachings with us. Talk about yoga uniting, supporting and connecting us. Feeling it from all angles 🫶

And this place. From our surrounds here at Kurulu Bay | Boutique Hotel in Sri Lanka to the incredible people of Sri Lanka. Epic. So, so grateful for this experience and the 16 incredible souls from our community who said yes this adventure.

Now it’s time to put the phone down, be present to the beauty and abundance in Sri’s embrace, and go for an ocean swim. Sending love and sunshine to those reading this back home. x

Winter invites us to slow down, breathe deeply, and take a little extra care of ourselves.

Here are a few simple ways to practise self-care this season:

• Make your favorite hot drink
• Cozy up with a fluffy blanket
• Read a good book
• Get plenty of rest
• Practice yoga

Remember, self-care doesn't have to be complicated. Sometimes the smallest rituals make the biggest difference.

How are you taking care of yourself this winter? We'd love to hear in the comments.
