This Saturday!

It's our second ever tunes session 🪈 🪗 Having music along with the dances we do has been part of the dream from the start. We are lucky enough to have Tom officially on board to get us playing balfolk for dancing 💃

If you’re a musician and keen to come along and play, get in touch with Tom (and why not follow his page while you're there?)

PLUS in advance of our upcoming bals, we're doing collage and making zines! (Fun fact, there's a free zine fair happening in a couple weeks in Kensington with Sticky Institute )

If you want to some cutting and glueing time, building our little community, all while being serenaded by our dance musician, send Stevie a message 🙌

October and November are looking LUSH! We've got you supplied with all your folky goodies from festivals, sessions, classes and a lil party!

Find us for Breton dancing at Le Festival Français - Geelong on Saturday the 24th. You can see our talented friend Amie Brûlée there on the 25th!

Balfolk music sessions run by Tom continue in October 🎻 🎷

We have our usual workshop dance sessions throughout October and November in Fairfield. Plus a beginner workshop in the C*D with Laneway Learning early November.

Come celebrate Samhain (Halloween) with some spooky Irish folk dance mischief 👻 ☘️ November 29th - dance and potluck!

> into the train to Greensborough on the Hurstbridge line and get off at Fairfield station
> into a car and park at Gilles Street Carpark
> onto the 567 or the 508 bus
> onto the pedals of a bicycle 🚲 for that sweet door to door service

There's lots of ways to get to dance class (to shake it all about). No experience or partner needed.

I first tried this dance at a bal with Folqué? and didn't see it again until almost two years later at Bal-Curious Folk ! Big love to Rom who told me what it was called, and a great introductory video on YouTube by folks at Balfolk Auckland

Come warm up this winter with balfolk!

If you're new here, bal-folk is a beautiful melange of dances from France, Bretagne and Europe. Ever been to a Scottish ceilidh? Or Irish ceili? You’re more than halfway there! You'll know more than you think 😌

Either way, we choose dances that feel good, are quick to learn and go with some absolute banger tunes 🎶 lines, big circles, paired and solo. All taught and called each night.
