The quality and standard of contestants every day this year set the bar high and made our judges’ jobs incredibly difficult every day. 👗

Across Ladies Day, Derby Day, Chief Minister’s Cup Day and Darwin Cup Day, we were blown away by the standard, creativity, elegance and attention to detail of all our entrants. 💎

🏆 WATADEEL wins the 2026 Great Northern Darwin Cup!! 🏆

What a performance! Watadeel has captured the Territory's biggest race, storming home to claim the 2026 Great Northern Darwin Cup.

Given a perfect ride by Zac Spain, Watadeel proved too strong, defeating Rematch, with the gallant two-time defending champion Hadouken fighting on bravely for third, while Komachi rounded out the top four.

The victory also sees trainer Michael Hickmott create more Darwin Cup history, securing his fourth Great Northern Darwin Cup.
