Welcome to Ferntree Gully Eagles Football Netball Club

The Ferntree Gully Eagles FNC is a proud and passionate club. Our history goes back over 100 years; through droughts and depressions, through good times and bad; our club and its people have endured it all. They have sacrificed so much and without them there is no History of the Ferntree Gully Eagles Football Netball Club. They have forged the legacy that is Ferntree Gully - Pride and Passion. Today we wear our jumper with pride and in doing so we will entrench ourselves in the History of this great club.

“The Gully Spirit” - It is not a right to represent this club, it is a privilege

🔵⚪ WELCOME TO THE GULLY, CHASE! ⚪🔵

The Ferntree Gully Eagles Football & Netball Club is excited to welcome Chase to the club!

After spending a couple of years away from the game, Chase is looking forward to getting back out on the field and pulling on the boots again.

Chase has previously played with Caulfield Grammarians and the Hillside Sharks, and we’re looking forward to having him on board as he gets back into footy, meets the boys and gets stuck into the season ahead.

Welcome to the Gully, Chase! We can’t wait to see you out there in the blue and white. 🦅

⚪️🔵 WELCOME TO FERNTREE GULLY, COREY SMALL! 🔵⚪️

The Ferntree Gully Eagles Football & Netball Club is excited to welcome Corey Small as our Under 19.5s Coach!

Corey brings a wealth of coaching experience, leadership and a strong passion for developing young people. He spent two years coaching the Victorian Region Under 15s Lacrosse team and has also coached the reserves at Caulfield Lacrosse Club.

Over the past two years, Corey has been involved as a trainer with the FTG Junior Football Club, having already been heavily involved with the junior program for the past four years. His commitment to the club and its junior players makes this a fantastic next step as he takes on the Under 19s role.

Away from football, Corey works at Swinburne TAFE, where he works alongside and helps teach apprentices, bringing further experience in mentoring, education and developing the next generation.

We’re thrilled to have Corey step into the role and look forward to seeing him help our Under 19s grow, develop and represent the white and blue with pride.

Welcome aboard, Corey! Carn the Gully! 🔵⚪️

🦅 HAPPY SUNDAY! THE MAN MOUNTAIN HAS LANDED.

Welcome to the Gully, Russ Gabriel! 💙🤍

Russ brings an outstanding record of individual achievement, team success and experience to the Eagles for 2027.

🏉 100+ VFL/WAFL games with Frankston and East Fremantle
⭐ Four VFL Team of the Year selections
🏅 Two league medals
🏆 Seven club best and fairest awards

Add years of local football with Doveton and Pines, and it’s a remarkable football résumé.

But what excites us most is what Russ can bring to this group.

A commanding ruck presence, he’ll have our midfielders walking taller and give them first use through his quality tap work. His understanding of the game and experience in successful team environments will be invaluable in helping our young players develop.

Russ brings the presence to influence a contest and the knowledge to lift those around him—an exciting combination as we build towards 2027.

We can’t wait to see the big man in the middle at Wally Tew, marshalling the troops in blue and white.

Welcome to the Eagles family, Russ! 👊

🦅 SWEET SIGNING. SERIOUS IMPACT.

Kane “Sugar” Young is an Eagle! 💙🤍

After a couple of years pursuing his signature, we’re thrilled to welcome Kane to the Gully for 2027.

With senior premierships at Rowville in 2023 and South Belgrave in 2025—and top 6 best and fairest finishes in both campaigns—Sugar knows what it takes to contribute to a successful side.i

Playing predominantly across half-back, he brings courage, determination and elite ball use, backed by a terrific understanding of the game. He can also swing forward and turn a contest, demonstrated by a handful of goals in a preliminary final in premier division this year that helped Rowville reach the grand final.

The Gully faithful will love his commitment and class. Around the club, his charismatic personality and infectious energy will make him just as welcome.

A proven performer, an exciting addition and a signing we’ve been working towards for some time. We can’t wait to see Sugar make his mark in blue and white.

Welcome to the Eagles family, Kane! 👊

🦅 SPEED. CLASS. A WINNING PEDIGREE.

Welcome to the Gully, Sean Bartels! 💙🤍

Having called South Belgrave home throughout his club football journey, Sean joins the Eagles for an exciting new chapter in 2027—and brings an outstanding résumé with him.

🏆 Three senior premierships with South Belgrave
🏅 South Belgrave senior best and fairest in their 2023 Division 1 premiership year
🏉 Eastern Ranges TAC Cup experience
⭐ Seven junior best and fairest awards

Sean adds speed, toughness and polished ball use through the midfield and forward half. His strong work ethic and hunger to succeed will bring plenty to our playing group as we work towards an exciting season ahead.

We’re thrilled Sean has chosen to be part of what we’re building and can’t wait to see him in blue and white.

Welcome to the Eagles family, Sean. Bring on 2027! 👊

🦅 STRENGTH IN THE MIDDLE. CHARACTER TO MATCH.

Welcome to the Gully, Riccardo Daraio! 💙🤍

An incredible 3x premiership player from South Belgrave, Riccardo brings a powerful presence to our midfield for 2027. Big-bodied and hard at the football, his skill and experience will be valuable additions to our engine room.

Just as exciting is the person joining our club. A great character who leads from the front through his actions and energy, Riccardo brings the kind of example that lifts those around him.

As belief builds for the season ahead, we’re thrilled to welcome someone who will help drive our standards and embrace what it means to play for the Eagle on the front.

Welcome to the Eagles family, Riccardo. Let’s get to work! 👊

🦅 ANOTHER EAGLE LANDS. THE EXCITEMENT BUILDS.

Welcome to the Gully, Damian Garner! 💙🤍

With experience at Rowville, Frankston and most recently South Belgrave, where he became a premiership player, Damian brings valuable experience and a strong work ethic to our forward line in 2027.

A hardworking centre half-forward with grunt and class, Damian gives the club another strong presence up front—and our supporters another reason to get excited.

We’re building something together at the Gully, and we’re thrilled to have Damian on board for the next chapter.

Welcome to the family, Damian. Bring on 2027! 👊

🦅 A BIG SIGNING. AN EXCITING NEW CHAPTER.

Taylor Garner is coming to the Gully! 💙🤍

From North Melbourne to premiership success at South Belgrave, Taylor brings experience, firepower and proven quality to our forward line in 2027.

A premiership player, leading goalkicker and 2025 EFNL Division 1 Team of the Year selection—now ready to make his mark in blue and white.

For our players, members, volunteers and supporters, there’s plenty to get excited about. We’re building belief, raising expectations and putting in the work to shape our next chapter together.

Welcome to the Eagles family, Taylor.

Our history makes us proud. What comes next is ours to build.
