Why should women weight train? ππ»ββοΈ Other than burning calories and reducing body fat, weight training strengthens muscles and bones, decreasing the risk of osteoporosis! π lifting can also improve posture and rescue back pain if practiced correctly π book a PT session with me to learn the safe and effective techniques, and Iβll start you off on weights that appropriate (sometimes body weight is enough for beginners) ...DM to get started! πͺ

A super healthy and filling dinner! Baked capsicums stuffed with brown rice π πΆ I boil the capsicums for 5 mins then stuff them with cooked brown rice and veg, then baked in the oven for 15 mins π the rice recipe I used was mixed veg, firm tofu, chickpeas, kidney beans, coconut cream and green curry paste π a vegan, nutritious and satisfying everyone can enjoy ππ

π tips for exercise if you suffer from Anxiety π gyms and even group exercise classes can be really intimidating for anxious people. Loud noises in a packed gym, an intimidating group fitness instructor, a pushy PT... any number of things can put anxious people off working out. Not all introverts are anxious and not all who suffer from anxiety are introverted, however the two often make a pair π I can be super outgoing if I have to be, but for the most part Iβm a pretty quiet person who likes their alone time π if you want to start working out but youβre worried about having a panic attack or something of the sort, here are a few suggestions - long walks where there are tranquil surroundings eg running water tend to be a lot more calming than walking on a treadmill at home or in a gym. Wear layers, so you can take one or two off as you warm up - over heating can induce panic. Eat something 45 mins before your workout, not a big meal so youβre nauseated - just something so you wonβt feel dizzy or lightheaded which can make you feel worried. Wear headphones even if you donβt play music - if you have social anxiety this is a good way to avoid people making conversation with you while you exercise. Lastly, find a decent PT who can actually help you! Non threatening, non judgemental PTs who allow you to go at your pace DO EXIST β€οΈππ

Did you know βSeasonal Depressionβ is actually a thing? Seasonal Affective Disorder, aptly shortened to βS.A.Dβ is a mood disorder characterised by depression that occurs at the same time every year, often coming on in early Winter when it gets cold, rainy and dreary outside π§ I am a lover of the warm months, and though I donβt experience βSADβ I definitely feel cheerier in Summer time βοΈ so if itβs a sunny day, make the most of it even if youβve had a bad week/month/whatever π€·ββοΈ go for a run, a walk, or simply sit outside and soak up the sunshine, and remember that there is more than hardship, sadness and pain on Earth, there is always a blue sky somewhere πβ€οΈ - Sienna xx

ππ₯ one ingredient banana ice cream! or βnice creamβ as itβs often called π blend 1.5 or more frozen bananas in a food processor until you reach a desired consistency π super easy, so healthy, filling and taaasty π serve topped with raw nuts and/or more fruit π for extra fibre and healthy fats, add a table spoon of flax seed meal (great source of plant based omega 3) to the processor while youβre blending π€ enjoy!
