⚾ SEASON LAUNCH – THE SENATORS ARE READY FOR 2026/27! ⚾
What a fantastic night at our Season Launch! Every seat was filled, the atmosphere was buzzing, and there was plenty of excitement and anticipation for the 2026/27 season. Bring it on! 🔥
Our State League Division 1–3 squad is raring to go, with plenty of new faces joining the Senators. We also have players travelling each week from the Riverland and Mildura.
Head Coach Nathan Nicholson is looking forward to the challenge of coaching at the highest level. He has every confidence in this young group and is excited to see what they can achieve together, with a strong focus on playing enjoyable baseball and building a great team culture.
🇻🇪 WELCOME TO WOODVILLE, JOSE CEDENO!
We are excited to welcome our first import of the season, 21-year-old catcher Jose Cedeno, who travelled all the way from Venezuela this week!
Jose was born in Barquisimeto, Lara State, and grew up in Acarigua, Portuguesa State. He brings plenty of baseball experience, having signed with the Cleveland Guardians in the United States in 2022. Primarily a catcher, Jose can also play first and third base.
This is Jose’s first time in Australia! He is keen to give his best to the team, lift team morale and help the squad get the most out of themselves this season. And, he can’t wait to see some of those Kangaroos he’s heard so much about.
⚾ WELCOME BACK, TODD VAN STEENSEL!
We are also delighted to welcome Todd Van Steensel back to Woodville after he requested a transfer to return to our club, allowing him to play closer to where his family are.
Todd is looking forward to seeing our younger players step up, develop their game and become important contributors to the future of our A Grade program. His experience will be a valuable addition to this exciting group.

With a young squad, exciting new talent and experienced players returning, there is plenty to look forward to this season.
