Dandenong Valley Netball Region

BIG congratulations to our awesome Open team and coaches. It was a gruelling schedule and an intensely competitive field. Our team fought out every game to finish 4th (out of 14 teams) with 10 wins and 1 draw, and earn a spot in the semi finals (a narrow loss to the 1st placed team, in a very even game). We are so very proud of your skill and tenacity, and the way you bonded on court and met every challenge. It was a pleasure to watch you play.

Our 15U team was highly competitive and courageous throughout the State Titles weekend, showing strength, talent and composure, finishing 6th on the ladder after 18 hard fought games, and reaching the Semi Finals. Their weekend ended with a 1–goal loss in the Semi, which they fought out to the very end. We’re so incredibly proud of your achievement this year — congratulations 15U✨

Congratulations to our awesome 17U State Titles team, finishing 7th (out of 18) and missing finals by half a game. This team, so connected on court, showed great maturity, skill and tenacity, and met all challenges with composure and determination. We are so very proud of you.

Thank you super coaches, Jude Donovan and Chelsea Maher, for providing this team with excellent preparation and skill development opportunities, and your encouragement, guidance and support of them throughout the competition.

This year, for the first time, the 17U coaches decided to recognise a “Player of the Tournament”. The award recipient is Amara Crotty. In their words she was an absolute stand out. She showed leadership as a co-captain, took the responsibility of getting out for most centre pass receives despite tough and varied defence. She supported our bottom age GS transition to GA when we suffered a tournament ending injury. She encouraged all her team mates, fed a rotaing circle with absolute precision and switched onto defence quickly when ball was turned over. To say we were proud of her is simply not enough. An outstanding 3 days Amara and a well deserved award.
