# # # A Heartfelt Salute to Our Departing Committee Members 💙🖤🤍

As another season comes to a close, we would like to acknowledge and pay tribute to four very special people who will be stepping down from their committee positions at Marist Football Club.

**President David Bornmann, Coaching Coordinator Brad Knight, Secretary Kelly Prentice and Registrar Maria Manning** have collectively dedicated decades of their time, energy and passion to our club as volunteers and committee members.

The commitment and selflessness of people like David, Brad, Kelly and Maria are what make Marist Football Club such a special and successful community. Their contribution extends far beyond their official roles, helping to build a club where generations of young footballers can learn, develop, make friendships and enjoy the game.

On behalf of all our members, we extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation for their outstanding service and the lasting legacy they leave behind.

While we say goodbye to these familiar faces in their current roles, we look forward to welcoming the next generation of volunteers who will help shape the future of our club.

Our Annual General Meeting will be held on **Monday 12 October at 6pm**, with all members invited to attend and nominate for the vacant committee positions.

If you are passionate about our club and would like to contribute to its future, we encourage you to get involved.

As we pack away the football gear into the cage for another year, it’s hard not to reflect on the season that has just passed.

The player jumpers, proudly worn by our young boys and girls throughout the winter, are now neatly cleaned and folded. Some still carry the stubborn stains of green grass and dirt — little reminders of the battles fought, the tackles made, the goals kicked and the memories created.

The footballs, scratched and marked by boots, carry the scars of a season spent on the winter grounds. The ball bags are stacked away, and the goalpost pads are neatly put back in their place.

And there, proudly stamped beneath the Marist logo, are the names of O’Dea and Lukey — a reminder of the men who started this wonderful club and whose legacy continues to look after the very gear that has served another generation of Marist footballers.

There is something special about this time of year. The grounds grow quiet, the jumpers are put away, and the familiar sounds of football slowly fade.

But what remains is so much more than football gear.

It’s the friendships, the teamwork, the laughter, the lessons learned, the wins celebrated and the losses that made us stronger. It’s the coaches, volunteers, parents and supporters who gave their time, and the young players who proudly pulled on the Marist jumper each week.

Another season completed. Another chapter added to the story of Marist Football Club.

To everyone who played a part in making this season so special, thank you.

Rest up, enjoy the break, and we look forward to seeing you all back out on the footy fields next year.

💙🤍 SO PROUD OF OUR MARIST YEAR 9 BOYS! 🤍💙

What a Grand Final! Our Year 9 boys went down to Ocean Ridge by just 2 points in an absolute nail-biter that went right down to the wire.

To come from 4th spot and fight their way all the way through to the Grand Final is an incredible achievement. Every player left everything out on the field today and played their hearts out in a thrilling contest.

While the result wasn’t quite what we wanted, there is so much to be proud of. The determination, resilience, teamwork and belief this group has shown throughout the season has been outstanding.

You should all hold your heads high, boys. 💙

A huge congratulations to Ocean Ridge on the win, and a massive thank you to our coaches, team managers, families and supporters for getting behind the boys all season.

A fantastic season of hard work, determination and teamwork has been rewarded with the ultimate prize. Every player should be incredibly proud of what they have achieved.

A huge congratulations to the players, coaches Ryan Shephard, Dave Mclean, team manager Joe Baily and, of course, the families and supporters who have been behind the boys all season.

What an incredible achievement from this group of girls. From the first game of the season right through to the Grand Final, they have shown determination, teamwork, resilience and plenty of Marist spirit!

A huge congratulations to every player — you should all be incredibly proud of what you have achieved! 💙🤍

🏆 GRAND FINAL WEEKEND! 🏆

Marist is thrilled to announce THREE teams are heading into Grand Finals this weekend! 🔵⚪️

The action kicks off with our Year 9–10 Girls on Friday night and finishes with our Year 9 Boys on Sunday afternoon. What an incredible weekend ahead for the Club!

📅 Grand Final Details:
👉 Year 9–10 Girls – 6pm Friday night MacDonald Reserve
👉 Year 7 Sunday 9am MacDonald Reserve
👉 Year 9 Boys – 1pm Sunday afternoon - Charles Riley Oval

We’d love to see as many Marist supporters as possible there to get behind our players, create plenty of noise and cheer them across the line! 📣👏

And what a great way to spend Father’s Day — watching the players battle it out in a Grand Final! 💙

Good luck to all three teams, players, coaches and families. We’re incredibly proud of you all!

🏆 GRAND FINAL BOUND! 🏆

The Marist Year 9s have done it! A thrilling Preliminary-final victory on the weekend has secured their place in the Grand Final next Sunday at 1:00pm at Charles Riley Reserve, where they will take on Ocean Ridge. 🔵⚪️

What makes this achievement even more impressive is the journey this team has been on. Starting from 4th place, merging two teams after Round 5 and battling through a season impacted by injuries, these young men have shown incredible resilience, determination and belief.

Under the fantastic leadership of their coaches, the team has come together as a strong and united group and earned their opportunity to play for a premiership. 💪

Congratulations to all the players! Everyone at Marist is incredibly proud of what you have achieved this season and, more importantly, the Marist spirit, teamwork and commitment you have shown along the way.

Now it’s time for one more big effort!

This Sunday, the Marist Year 9s take on Kingsway at Ellersdale Reserve in their Preliminary Final!

It’s win or go home for the boys, with a place in next week’s Grand Final on the line. They’ve worked hard all season and now they need the Marist community behind them!

📣 Bring the family, bring the flags and bring the noise!
Every voice on the sideline can give the boys that extra lift when they need it most.
