Parkside Football Club would like to invite the Parkside community to come together, pay their respects and celebrate the life of our beloved Ray Barber.

Ray played an incredibly important role in our club and meant so much to many within the Parkside community. We invite our members, past players, supporters and friends to come together in his honour.

Our thoughts remain with Ray’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. 🤍🖤

VALE RAY BARBER

It is with great sadness that we share news of the passing of Ray Barber.

Surrounded by family, after a long and private battle, Ray passed away yesterday afternoon.

A lifelong Parkside person, Ray was part of the fabric of this club.

From his involvement spanning over 40 years, Ray was the beacon of hope always.

He worked long and hard within our club on every level, from Player, Committee Member, Trainer, Auskick Director and the leader of the vital reestablishing of the junior programme over 20 years ago which the club reaped the rewards for generations and in some cases continue to this day.

Ray was always there to do what he could for the club and more importantly the Parkside People.

He epitomised what it meant to be a Parksider and his contribution will never be forgotten. Always humble, always there for a chat, Ray Barber was one of the world's true gentlemen.

Ray's passing will be a tremendous loss, and as we reflect, we are grateful for everything that he has done, always putting the club first and always working towards the greater good. In his own selfless, unassuming way, Ray achieved so much and looked for little in return. He will always be remembered.

The Parkside Community will mourn the loss of Ray, at this time we extend our love and support to the Barber, Balbino and Alderman families.

Rest In Peace Ray.

Funeral Details will be shared at a later time.
