Vale: Mrs Patsy Ganson

It is with great sadness that the Foster Bowls Club announces the passing of Patsy Ganson.
A great club member. Always fun to be around, the life of the party.
Patsy was a strong club member, taking on positions over her many years. Quite a character on the green. Some long-term health issues then restricted her time at the club, but she always seemed to manage those occasional appearances. Enjoying the social catch ups with everyone. She will be sadly missed.
We send our heartfelt condolences to Jimmy and all the family and her friends.
May she rest in peace. ❤️🌹🙏
Further details will be posted as they come to hand.

The Foster Bowls Club are very pleased to have been successful a few months back with a successful grant from Sport & Recreation Victoria. A big thankyou goes out to them.

Our very popular Jack Attack competition at the club is thriving and the funding we received has gone towards the purchase of ten more sets of bowls! We've been patiently waiting for them to arrive!
This will see everybody now having a great choice of bowls size. Being able to use new brightly coloured, modern bowls when learning the game. Another boost for the event players.
We can't wait for the new Jack Attack season to start. Wednesday October 14th!!!

We played the final game of our Winter Triples last week. Sadly the weather wasn't on our side and teams came in for an early lunch then went out to complete their second game and then deciding to call it a day.
Our Sponsors for the day were Alex Crouch and Gippsland Funeral Services. We thank them both for their continued support.
The Winning team on the day were the Inverloch boys for the second month running! Marty Hannaford, Scotty Miller & Micky Cosgrove.
Runners Up were the Port Welshpool team of Gilbert Claire, Andrew Stimpson & Stephen Green.
The 'Best Game' wine prizes Sponsored by IGA Foster + Liquor went to the combo team of Marg Tosch, Ian Rogers & Cheryl Tosch (absent for photo).
Our Encouragement prizes of Club drink vouchers went to the Foster team of John Warren, Des Hanson & Dave Hutchinson.
A very successful winter season all round, a big thankyou to all the players and organisers alike.
Thursday September 10th sees the start of the 2026/27 Season of our Summer Triples.

The Foster Bowls Club was very pleased to to be successful in receiving funding from Marinus Link's Community Grants and Sponsorship program 2025/26.
The funds will be going towards the purchase of several Replas recycled plastic outdoor seats, which will go around our bowling greens.
Our Vice President, Bev Tyers and Secretary Sue Waugh earlier this month attended a Grant/Sponsorship presentation night put on by Marinus Link. Where we were presented with a framed certificate congratulating us on being one of the many successful recipients. We thank them very much for their support.
Marinus Link through their Grants, Partnerships and Sponsorships are investing in the communities where the Marinus Link is being constructed. Keeping us updated and fully informed as their project proceeds.

Next month will be the last of our Winter Triples, Thursday 13th Aug. Let's hope the weather is on our side! Ring Kelvin on 0408 646 531 to enter your team.
And just around the corner will be the start of the new season for 2026/27!
More details soon.
