The Phil Carroll and Past Members Memorial Day was held yesterday at Harbord BC.
With great weather and 84 bowlers participating a great day was had by all.

Club Fours final played today. Congrats to the winners P Brittain, S Smith, C Green, M Alexander def B Hoy, C Redwood, F Craig, S Ashdown 22-13 in a great match. Well done to all players.

State Mixed Pairs Qualifying Finals we’re played at Chatswood BC today. Congrats to Harbord’s Virginia Longfellow and Mark Alexander and Jenny Hepburn (NeutBay) and Alan McMaster (WPym) on winning through to the State Finals in Dubbo next year. Well done to all.

2025 Club Triples Final was played today in great conditions at Harbord. A very tight match all the way through with Paul Brittain, Steve Smith, Mark Alexander defeating Michael Sparozvich, Steve Ashdown, Terry Warder, 21-20 in another great final coming down to the last bowl. Thanks to the spectators and the volunteers and umpires for a great weekend.

Great day at Belrose BC in the Region Rookie singles qualifying. Congratulations to George Bull winning through to the State Rookie Singles finals to be held next month. George is also through in the Rookie Pairs with Peter Greenwood. Best of luck to the Harbord Rookie bowlers.

Well done to all the Harbord Hawks who played in the finals of the Region Fours over the weekend in extremely difficult conditions with strong gusty winds on very quick greens. We had success with a great win for our Senior Men’s side (S Smith, M Delia, S Ashdown, P Leckey) over a strong Mona Vale team 22-9. Our Harbord ladies (J Gibson, J Roberts, C Gordon, V Longfellow finished runners up in the State Women’s going down to Mona Vale 27-18. Unfortunately our Reserve teams and Senior Women’s did not make the final but a great effort reaching the Semi Final.

Harbord Major Singles final was played today. Hugh congratulations to Paul Brittain winning his first Major Singles tiitle 25-17 over the experienced Mark Delia in a great match. Well done to both players.

Congratulations to Steve Ashdown and Craig Redwood winning the Club Major Pairs today 18-10 over Steve Allcorn and Hayle Banfield. A great game and well done to all players.

Well done to the Hawks in the finals of the Region Singles today at St Ives. Congrats to Paul Leckey winning the Region Senior Mens Singles and Runner Up Col Creen. Also Linda Warder Runner Up in the Region Senior Womens Singles.

Handicap Pairs final was played this afternoon. Congratulations to the winners Noel Markham and David Wade defeating Paul Jones and Ral Lewis 26-18 in a great game. Noel and Dave had a 12 shot handicap and took advantage by playing well and not allowing Paul and Ral to close in on the margin. Well done to all players.

Many thanks to all those competing at the Harbord Open Triples this weekend. Blessed with great weather and good greens made an enjoyable 2 days of bowls. Congratulations to the winners A Grade Ross Andrews, James Brown, Col Green; B Grade Ian Foreman, Ross Stevens, Brent Foreman; C Grade Toby Williams, Mal Fairlie, Gerard Parlevliet.
