WMAC 2026 – Daegu
🥉 Bronze at the World Masters Athletics Championships!
Ageing is a natural part of life. For women in our early 50s, changes in our hormonal and reproductive systems can bring additional challenges. This year, despite being more conservative with my training, I experienced more injuries and setbacks than I have in a long time.
I couldn’t run from middle March until the end of May, and I only registered for the World Championships on the final day. My coach kept encouraging me, saying, “You’ll have a great story to share.”
Then, one month before the competition, I injured my calf again simply by playing with a ball on the grass. Soon afterwards, I picked up a stomach bug that completely drained my energy.
I often tell the athletes I coach:
‘Control what you can, and accept what you can’t control.’
I couldn’t control every change in my body or every setback, but I could control my mindset, my rehabilitation, my patience and my willingness to train whenever I could.
Now, a long time dream has come true medaled in the women’s 50+ 800m at WMAC 2026 in Daegu, South Korea.
We are all capable of much more than we think. Ageing doesn’t mean we have to stop challenging ourselves. We can find solutions with the right mindset and will, instead of excuses.
Dream big, trust yourself and don’t give up!

Training is hard. Competing is even harder.
I finished 4th in the W50 1500m final at the World Masters Championships in Daegu in 5:13.34; an age-graded equivalent of 4:25.4.
After injuries, setbacks and plenty of uncertainty in the leadup, I’m so grateful that my body allowed me to stand on that start line and compete.
The conditions weren’t easy either rain, wind and even hail, but I ran my second-best time since turning 50 (I’m one week short of turning 53.)
This experience reminded me that being strong isn’t only physical. It’s about patience, resilience, listening to your body and accepting where you are while still believing in where you can go.
Our 50s aren’t a time to stop challenging ourselves. There is still so much we can discover about what our bodies and minds are capable of. That’s something I’m passionate about sharing through my work as a Personal Trainer and Pilates Instructor.
If you’d like some support becoming stronger, moving with confidence or working towards your own goal, I’d love to help.
Available for new clients from mid September. ❤️

Testing yourself matters.
Whether it’s competition, exams, or any challenge, stepping out of your comfort zone is the only way to truly measure where you’re at.
Pressure reveals a lot. Competition tests you physically, mentally, and emotionally. It shows the gaps, reinforces the strengths, and shows you exactly where you stand.
But the biggest competition is always yourself: how much you’re willing to give to perform well. At masters age, it’s about deciding how much time, effort, and commitment you’re prepared to invest to be proud of where you stand.
