Silver it is 🥈
Racing Infront of a home crowd was such a dream come true, but the ending wasn’t. With the cancellation of Day 2, the what ifs are starting to pile up. What if Racing went ahead? What if I just peddled to the finish line and didn’t stroll last straight? But none of that matters. I definitely had the speed to take the win, I know that, and I’ve accepted that. But we can’t control everything in BMX and sometimes that’s how the cookie crumbles.
This is not how I wanted it to end, If I had to opportunity to Race for the title I would, even if that meant walking away with nothing. Saying that, the right call was made. I know how that track rides and all it takes is one gust of wind to tear us apart.
Regardless of the circumstances, 2nd in the world for Junior Men is a massive achievement. Even if it doesn’t taste like much. It was an honor to stand on that championship podium for the first time with the cheers of all of Australia behind me. Definitely one I don’t want to forget.
Leaving with a whole bunch of positives, feeling, and showing that I am the fastest I’ve even been. Only fueling the fire to keep pushing. Onto the next.
Thank you to everyone in my corner, this is only the beginning.
