The PowerCats finished off the season in style with a strong performance against the undefeated Collingwood Magpies in last week's Reclink Australia Victorian Football and Cricket Leagues Grand Final series.

We led the game until late in the third quarter, with a great mix of defensive pressure, midfield grunt and forward craft in tricky blustery conditions at the iconic Coburg VFL ground. But the fairytale wasn't to be, with the classy Pies turning up the pressure and skill level late in the game to run out well deserved victors.

Grand Final Week!

We’re at close to full strength with a huge squad ready for the big dance on Wednesday - let’s give it a big shake PowerCats.

Please arrive at the Coburg ground by 10am if intending to play. Match time is 11am however there is an extended pre-game (National Anthem etc) so our prep time will be shorter and more hectic than a regular match.

Also parking may be limited so please allow plenty of travel time.

Otherwise the PIYP Bus leaves Corio FC at 8:30am.

Hey team we'll be having a short informal "Captains Run" training session at Corio FC tomorrow Monday 12noon to 1:15ish, as a last-chance catch-up before the Grand Final on Wednesday 9th.

Get along if you can, otherwise don't stress and watch this space for details of the Grand Final transport etc.

Great finale to the H&A Season with our recent hit-out against good friends and country cousins the Ballarat Bushrangers, in Round 10 of the Reclink Australia Victorian Football and Cricket Leagues.

Special thanks to Pixii for his work in helping to secure the venue, the picturesque Teesdale ground. Was a great game with the PowerCats coming out on top but Ballarat fighting it out with a big last quarter. Well done to both teams on a match played in great spirit.

Our delayed Round 10 match against Ballarat Bushrangers is on tomorrow in Teesdale. The match will have a Mental Health theme in order to raise awareness for the Beyond Blue foundation.

Bus leaves Corio FC at 10:30. Otherwise players please arrive at Teesdale by 11am, with 12 noon as the match time.

Get along to support a great cause and should be a good hitout before the GF.

Hey everyone unfortunately Corio Footy Ground has been made unavailable for the game tomorrow (due to ground works). We tried to get a back up ground but nothing is available at short notice.

We will be postponing tomorrow’s game for 2 weeks at tbc venue in Geelong.

Tomorrow we can do a training session at Corio still. We are just not allowed in the centre part of the ground.

Quick update on the Reclink Australia Victorian Football and Cricket Leagues SuperCoach League for 2026.

Finals Weeks 1-2 saw us lose some big names, including our reigning premiers (Wes) and other PowerCats Brad & Dylan.

Week 3 and another perennial gun team Garry (Bendigo) was defeated in the Prelim Final.

So this coming Round will be the Grand Final, between the two best teams of the year in Corio Kings (Nick, Wynbay Tigers) and Doggy Style (Ross, Southern Pen Swans). Good Luck guys, hopefully there's a trade or two left to cover all the recent AFL injuries.

Another epic instalment in the recent rivalry between Sunbury Phoenix and Geelong PowerCats. Fantastic game went right down to the wire, with the accuracy of the PowerCats being the difference in the end.
