✨✨🏆🎉Congratulations Brendan Williams, recipient of the Little Athletics Victoria Emerging Coach of the Year Award at last night's LAV Gala Awards Dinner.
Brendan has made a massive contribution to our athletes and our Centre, and it shows in our athlete's achievements and self-confidence.
Together with our coaching team, Brendan runs several free, fun and engaging training sessions each week, open to all athletes, leading into, and during our summer season.
This is a huge time commitment and so very much appreciated by our athletes and families.👏👏👏

😍 What a day for Team Corio! The weather was absolutely glorious, and all our athletes did so well on a challenging terrain.

We love seeing our athletes out and about at different events. 😍

😍💪Well done by our athletes who have progressed to the Winter State Track and Field Championships to be held in Berwick in August.
🏃🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️Mason, Nova and Xander qualified at last Sunday's qualifying round held at Corio.
🏃‍♀️Willow qualified in the qualifying round held at Ringwood.

All athletes run 60m, 300m, and 700m and do long jump.
Boys throw discus and girls throw shot put.
They earn points for each event to produce an aggregate score similar to a heptathlon.
We love seeing our athletes out and about trying different types of events.

✨✨🚌We are very excited to announce CDC Victoria, one of Victoria’s largest bus operators, are joining us as a Bronze Community Partner for 2 years.

Last week a group of athletes visited their depot to celebrate our partnership, and enjoyed a bus ride.
They also received goodie bags from CDC and learnt;
• 🦛Each bus weighs around the same as 13 hippos!
• 🚌Over 100 buses go through the Geelong depot.
• 💁‍♀️Narelle, our bus driver on the day used to be one of our long jump officials.
• 🎶12 athletes sound VERY loud when they all sing The Wheels on the Bus!

We are looking forward to our partnership with CDC over the next 2 years and thank them for coming on board to support our centre.

🏃‍♀️🏃Corio hosted the third qualifying round of the Little Athletics Vic Winter Track & Field competition at Viva Energy Athletics Arena today.
Well done to our 7️⃣ Corio athletes who participated in very chilly and windy conditions.
Athletes traveled from 4️⃣6️⃣centres to compete, so it was something quite different at our home track.
