Bio
Connor Macdonald is a multidisciplinary dancer with a strong focus on contemporary practice and a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community. Originally from a small country town in Victoria, Australia, he began training at a young age across multiple disciplines, including ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, and acrobatics.
He later relocated to Naarm (Melbourne) to undertake full-time study, graduating with a Diploma of Elite Performance (Contemporary) at Transit dance. During this time, Connor developed a deeper understanding of dance as both a language and a dialogue between the physical and emotional body. His work explores how movement can communicate meaningful stimuli to both himself and his audience.
Connor has trained under and been influenced by renowned choreographers such as Paul Malek, Chimene Steele-Prior, and Jo Lloyd, and has further expanded his practice through workshops with artists including Jason Mabana (Rambert School) and Stephanie Lake. His performance experience spans a range of mediums, including music videos, stage productions, and, most recently, work aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise ship.
Connor’s current creative interest revolves around how the body can be manipulated by internal and external forces. He is eager to share his passion and knowledge to anyone who is interested.

Welcome back to The Loft ✨
To all our returning students - it’s so good to have you back! And to those joining us for the first time, we’re really glad you’re here.
We hope you’ve loved your first week at the studio. It’s been a slightly different start to the term, with many of our students and teachers immersed in the Cloud Chamber dance film with our resident company , so our Contemporary classes are kicking off next week (Week 3).
Perfect timing if you’ve been thinking about joining, you’re right on time. We’re excited to have the wonderful Sugar teaching Beginner Contemporary on Mondays at 6pm, and welcoming fab new teacher Connor starting Saturdays Inter/Adv Contemporary this week.
