WA windsurfer clinches junior world championship on home waves Geraldton windsurfer Sarah Kenyon is victorious after a tight battle in the sport's junior world championships held in regional WA for the first time.

Hometown advantage to guide teen champ in world title push If there’s anyone who knows the waves and wind of Geraldton’s shores, it’s windsurfing junior girls world number one Sarah Kenyon.

It's been a while since the incredible JC (John Carter) has visited Western Australia, but he's coming to shoot photos for the Junior World Wave Titles at Geraldton, Australia, from January 10-18th, 2026.

Sixteen year old Tyler Wallrodt from Albany Australia is currently sitting in equal second for the 2025 junior boys world wave rankings. He won the 2025 Oceania Junior Boys Regional Championships in a very tight battle with Josh ledger and Ben Ilett.

Tyler rarely gets to sail to with crew his own age, living in a regional town that’s 4.5 hours south of Perth, so he’s pretty excited to meet other juniors from around the world at the Junior World Wave Grand Final, held in Geraldton Australia on 10-18 January.

Welcome to our first Japanese competitor in the 2025 Youth World Wave Grand Final - 16 year old Nozomi Sakai.
Nozomi finished 9th in the junior Girls in 2024, with a strong second place at the Omaezaki World Cup.
We look forward to windsurfing with you Nozomi, at the Youth World Wave Grand Final and Windsurf Camp in Geraldton, Western Australia.

Jake Ghiretti did it!!!!! Our very first Pro Junior world champion (u21) from Oceania - at 18 years of age.
Jake 🇦🇺 and Anton Richter 🇩🇪 had been tied for first on the world rankings with 🇱🇻 sitting in third. Jake had to beat both at the Aloha Classic, on starboard tack, to secure the title. It was a very competitive fleet with nearly all the world’s top pro juniors (.dezforges the only one missing).
Jake attacked mast high lips, pulling his trademark aerials to make the final and secure the win.
Congratulations Jake. You’ve always impressed us with your charging and incredibly rapid progress.
