Good Morning La Fiammaians'
Another beautiful Sunday day for football on the weekend albeit the cold nips of Jack Frost are starting to bite with those early Easterly winds.
I heard so many positive comments and feedback from all of our La Fiamma Junior teams this week, regardless of the scores, the kids performed admirably and gave their best. The supporters have also been fantastic showing respect and positive vibes to the players, including the opposition teams players and supporters and of course the officials. It sets a wonderful example to our youth, thank you!
It was hard to separate and arbortrate the team of the round and it seems to get more difficult every week, the coaches are certainly pulling their weight, doing the hard 'yakka' and earning the 'big coin' we promised them (it's in the mail ladies / gents - you know Australia Post they take so long nowadays 😖).
Prior to the announcement of team of the round, special commendations to our U15 and U17 sides who really stuck it to the respective Strath Lions teams who are older and have bigger bodies, but they never gave in nor dropped their heads and were unlucky not to come away without a point. However they will be richer for the experience and will have learned a lot about themselves as individuals and collectively as a group going forward that will only benefit and strengthen their resolve as a team.
Anyway I digress, I really couldn't split two teams this week the first being Tom Mitic's U7 Mighty Mini's La Fiamma "Raging Rossa's" and Dave Stratfords U11 La Fiamma "Lethal Lupo's". Both teams displayed real football nous, silky skills, determination and grit to make the Mighty 'Reds' proud.
Congratulations to the players, cpoaches, parents and families.

Good evening all,
I trust you all enjoyed Sunday's matches on the weekend, I heard there were terrific games played with wonderful sports(wo)manship and in great spirit with positive, enthusiastic support from parents, families and friends. Well done to everyone.
Special mention to the U11 teams La Fiamma Falcons and Lupo who played a very hard fought, entertaining match. From what I observed there is some real footballing potential from both the females and males in that age group. Additional 'Kudos' to the Coaches 'Dave Stratford' and 'Kris Gough' and the parents who packed up the goals and field markers at the end of the match and put them away in the trailer. This did not go unnoticed by the GJSA who forwarded their acknowledgement and appreciation to me, hence thank you. Thus as a segway if your team has the 12.00pm match (last game) please assist in this simple task, takes no more than 10mins (less with many hands on deck/pitch) and is of huge assistance.
Now to the big news. The team of the week is the U7 La Fiamma Flames. A bunch of tearaway, cheeky rascals with a real passion for the game. This team played against the U7 La Fiamma Rossi (coached by one of the 1st team Senior Mens league players Tom Mitic much appreciated Tom). It was a hotly contested match on a 'pitch perfect' (you see what I did there 😉) day. The teams played excellent football going from one end to the other, with some lovely passing, along with legal but hard challenges, trading goals throughout the match. The parents were frenzied in their support. What a spectacle!
However the winner was, drum roll......................ta da "The winner is the La Fiamma Football Club."
Below is a picture of the 'Flames Rascals".
Well done Boys
PS. Please remember if you can to take a picture of your team prior or after the match and send it to me with brief summary so I can post as 'Team of the Week'. But if you DO NOT want your child's photo on a social media platform ie FB please let your coach and myself know. Thank you.
NB. The coach is absentia in the Flames photo because FB will not register his birthdate - too old.

U15 La Fiamma Sporting Club 2026
The La Fiamma Under 15 side had a tough, grinding match against the Chapman Yellow team early Sunday morning. The team traded blows with goals alternating throughout the game with both teams playing with passion and enthusiasm. There were some great passages of play and highly entertaining football played from the La Fiamma team with obviously three of those passages culminating in goals however rumour has it too many missed opportunities. Yung (Coach) said "we just need a bit more polish on the finishing to make sure we put the game away".
Congratulations and fantastic first up effort by the U15's, long may it continue.
Go Reds!
