Vale Tim Chidlow.
Tim was a long time GDFC member and competitor at the Halco Abrolhos Islands Game Fishing Tournament. An expert fisherman and twice winner of the Pel Robson Trophy (highest point scoring billfish).
He was a valued friend and crew member on Balek III and will be sorely missed.
Our thoughts are with Tim’s family and loved ones.

🎣 Family Fishing Day Update 🎣

The gears are turning in the background and we’re getting everything lined up to make the Family Fishing Day happen!

There’s still plenty to organise, and we’d love to hear any ideas or suggestions you might have. If you’d like to get involved or lend a hand in any way, please reach out — the more people helping, the better! 🙂

We’re hoping to put together a fantastic day for local families, get plenty of kids involved, and most importantly, have a bit of fun along the way.

More details to come as things fall into place. Stay tuned! 🎣☀️

🎣 Family Fishing Day – Expressions of Interest! 🎣

We’re looking at putting together a Family Fishing Day sometime over the coming months and would love to hear from you!

This will be a fun, relaxed day designed to get families out on the water (or the shore), meet fellow anglers, and hopefully catch a few fish along the way.

💬 Before we lock anything in, we’d love your feedback:

• Would you be interested in attending?
• What time of year would suit you best?
• Shore-based or boat-based (No Demersals from boat)
• Any activities you’d like to see?
• Have any old/new or unique ideas? We’d love to hear them!

Whether you’re an experienced angler or just getting started, everyone is welcome.

Drop a comment below with your thoughts or simply comment “Interested” so we can gauge numbers.

The more ideas we get, the better we can make this an event everyone will enjoy! 🎣

A wahoo is one of the fastest and hardest-fighting fish in the ocean. Known for blistering runs, razor-sharp teeth and incredible eating quality, landing one is a bucket-list achievement for many anglers. If you’re lucky enough to hook one, get ready for an unforgettable battle!
