Heritage Round | 15 August
On the 15th of August at Daimler Trucks Greenough Oval, when Rover Football Club takes on Northampton, we will proudly celebrate Heritage Round — a celebration of the history, tradition and people who have shaped our club.
Since playing our first games in the early 1900s in our iconic Red and Black horizontal bars, Rovers underwent a significant change to our playing strip in 1926.
This Heritage Round, we take a step back in time and honour those early years of Rover Football Club, a time when the club competed in the Geraldton National Football Association (GNFA). As football continued to grow throughout the region, discussions surrounding the amalgamation of various district associations eventually began. In 1961, these efforts culminated in the formation of the league we know today as the GNFL.
To recognise and celebrate this proud history, Rovers will take the field in a special commemorative jumper — a design first worn by the club 100 years ago, from 1926 to 1932.
It is more than just a jumper. It represents the generations of players, volunteers, supporters and families who have worn the red and black before us.
Honouring our past. Celebrating our present. Building our future.
Hope to see you all at the footy, our last home and away game of the season.
Thank you to our jumper sponsor Brad A Delane at WCDC

So nice, we had to wear them twice 🔥
Over the next 2 game we celebrate Indigenous Round in the GNFL.
Indigenous Round is more than just a fixture on the GNFL calendar, it is a celebration of culture, heritage, and unity. This round honors the invaluable contributions of Aboriginal peoples to the game in which we love and adore. For the Midwest region of Western Australia—a vast, diverse area with strong Aboriginal roots—this round carries an even deeper meaning. It is a modern expression of community, belonging, and resilience. It provides a platform for pride and connection.
The Rover Football Club is very proud of their Indigenous heritage both past present and emerging. And without further ado would like to present our 2026 Indigenous Round Guernseys
Women’s guernsey designed By Kyhan Townsend-
The bottom-right section of the design represents the Greenough region and its surrounding farmlands, highlighting the strong connection to country. The footprints symbolize the Rovers’ journey—both the physical travels to different grounds for competition and the broader path the club is forging.
Above the footprints, the symbols represent the people who make up the Rovers family—the players, members, and wider community—acknowledging the collective strength and support that define the club.
The dots, depicted in pink, symbolize the blood that runs through our veins as Rovers women’s players, reinforcing the unity, resilience, and pride within our team.
The wavy red sash represents the Greenough River, an integral feature of the region, with a unique interpretation of traditional symbols embedded within it. These symbols honor women, celebrating their strength and the roles and capabilities that are uniquely theirs—things men cannot do.
Men’s guernsey designed by Clayton Parfitt in collaboration with Raymond Woods-
The gathering circle symbolizes Greenough Oval, a central place where we come together as family—sharing our love for football and the strong sense of community it brings. The sash represents the Greenough River and, more broadly, the waterways that flow through and surround the Midwest region—vital lifelines that sustained our people for food, water, and connection.
The warrior figure at the base, armed with shield and spear, embodies the spirit and resilience of our people, reflecting the mindset we carry when we step across that white line on game day—strong, determined, and united.
Finally, the kangaroo serves as a subtle tribute to my brother, Blaine Clinch—a personal nod woven into the story of this design.
