Weekend skates are so much fun, lucky to live where we do!

Our Skate Invaders team had so much fun at the Rainmakers Event at Nabawa over the weekend. Great way to burn off some energy with a neat bunch of people. We won a few goodies too, woohoo! 😊

Happenings for this week:
Pinky traveled to Perth to play for Space Invaders in the Perth Mixed Derby 1st home game of the season and came away with a hard fought win, 149 to 145, that’s nail biting stuff!
Jazz, Conquer, Boo, Sonic, Doza and Shain had a super fast foreshore skate on a magical day. So lucky to live where we do.

And last but not least Charlie is sulking as he didn’t get to go on the foreshore skate like Sonic’s dog, the amazing Doza, best skate dog ever and the reason we went so fast 😆🤩 🐕

Yesterday was our final roller disco for this school holidays and it was a big one! It was loads of fun and we’d like to give a big thanks to everyone that came or helped out in anyway. We hope to do more in the future and maybe have mums and dads skating too! 🛼🎶🪩💕

In a sea of bicycles (many of them electric) the intrepid Pyscho and Manic represented the Sin City Rollers at Woman on Wheels 2026.
These two legends roller skated from Stow Gardens on the town foreshore to Swan Drive Sunset Beach car park and then back to town against the southerly. So proud of you both Susan Phillips and Kianah Sharpe 🤩🛼👯‍♀️💕

For our latest southern jaunt, Pinky, Boo, Conquer and Manic travelled to Margaret River to compete in Skate Fest 2026 5v5 events. We were joined by the awesome Rainbow Smite from the Dread Pirate Rollers to make up our 5. Thanks Rain, we loved playing with you! Pinky got to play in the final for Margs as they were down a player and they won too, yay, go Pinky!
It was an action packed weekend and we got to catch up with all our wider state roller derby people.

We are so super proud of our Manic Panic as not only was it her first time competing, she jammed like a legend and earned herself an MVP award!!! How good is that! 🤩🏆🛼💕
Manic is also our new freshie coach so any newcomers get to benefit from her skating skills which are really quite amazing. She’s a natural teacher and an asset for our club. So proud!!! 😻
Ps we will be calling for new freshies soon as our last intake was small and we’d like a few more. Keep an eye out and let us know if you’re even a bit interested! You never know, you may love it too 😉
